The Guide Is on the Run

Sentinels have an innate urge to pursue Guides. They can follow a Guide’s pheromones, diluted to one ten-thousandth, and come running through the rain. They will chase after their fleeing partners, crossing thousands of mountains and rivers without hesitation.

Zhuang Wenwei respects their nature, but she has no desire to become a Guide. After failing to awaken several times, her parents gave up on her.

So she left alone and severed ties with her family. By then, she had already decided to live an ordinary life.

To achieve the ordinary life she dreamed of, she would do everything in her power to escape the pursuit.

But her Guide pheromones seeped into the air, little by little. Her quantum beast was a nine-tailed fox. Perhaps her nature was simply to attract Sentinels.
