[Arknights] Has the Captain Made It Ashore Today?

Everyone knows that if you cast a hook into the sea, you might not catch a fish.

Like every hungry morning, the children of the slums tossed their homemade makeshift fishing hooks into the water.

Then they hooked a tall man.

■■■■ opened his eyes amid the children loudly plotting how to divvy up his belongings.

He remembered his name: Ulpian.

Blurb to be revised, or perhaps just remove the following section:

Other members of the Deep Sea team and related characters may appear in the third captain’s recollections.

The setting combines Bungo Stray Dogs and Jujutsu Kaisen.

Things I personally want to write:

1.

Ulpian remembered that he seemed to have once lived among a noisy, crowded, accepting community. No, perhaps he had only ever had a handful of people by his side.

Once he realized this, the voice constantly calling him to “return to the collective” grew quieter. His memories of the past remained blurry, but Ulpian somehow felt that he had become more like himself. So he looked at the shimmering sea and hummed a song that felt both strange and familiar.

2.

After Chuuya learned that he was Arahabaki’s safety mechanism, he thought of Ulpian.

The man always seemed attached to clothes that covered nearly every bit of exposed skin. Dazai once teased him for looking like a piece of sushi, but Chuuya had seen the terrible, jagged scars on the man’s body.

Ulpian said they were the marks left by the experiments that had modified him.

3.

Because he had Seaborn cells in his body, Ulpian always gave off a special aura, unlike either supernatural abilities or cursed energy. In Gojo Satoru’s eyes, ordinary people were black beans, jujutsu sorcerers were edamame, ability users were mung beans, and Ulpian was a peanut.

Gojo Satoru: (glances over) (can’t help glancing again) This guy is weird.

4.

Geto Suguru chatted with Ulpian about jujutsu sorcerers and curses. It was mostly the young man speaking, somewhat bewildered, while Ulpian rarely said anything but listened attentively. In the end, the young man grew into a wonderful adult, and at the end of the story, Ulpian returned to his continent, his homeland, a place of despair where hope could still spring from quiet corners.

H... happy ending?

Damn it, don’t you really want a taste of our taciturn, masked man? He looks fierce, but he’s actually a melancholy, artistic beauty! Come on, stick to him already! (writhes in dark desperation) Friends, I really need some delicious Arknights fic! I really do!

Maybe I’ll start it again someday. I’m worried my love for everyone will make the characters too OOC. I’ll wait for more fic, then wait some more.
