The Admiral Without a Rank

Sengoku agreed to let Christo join SWORD because he thought she had been through a lot to get this far and wanted to give her some room to breathe.

But he never imagined that handing in her rank would be like opening the door to a whole new world for Christo. Not only did she actually go up against Whitebeard, afterward she announced that she'd found herself a pirate boyfriend?

Perhaps afraid that he'd be so angry he'd transfer her out of SWORD, Christo called him afterward to explain properly:

"You don't need to worry. If anything goes wrong, I'll take my own life first. I absolutely won't tarnish the Navy's reputation."

"But I haven't become an admiral yet, so I'm definitely not going to die just like that."

[This story will begin going premium from Chapter 26 on April 1. Please be careful not to buy chapters twice. There will be a 10,000-word update at noon that day. Your support is greatly appreciated.]

Reader's guide

1. The male lead is Ace. Happy ending.

2. About one fifth of the story follows the heroine's life in the Navy, while the male lead is offscreen.

3. I accidentally switched the heroine's first and last name for a while. I only noticed after finishing, and it's a bit of a hassle to change now. Since it only happens a few times and isn't important to the story, I'll leave it as is.
