Weather's Edge

During the Taisho era, man-eating demons roamed the world. There were only two ways to kill them: cut off their necks with a Nichirin Blade, or expose them to sunlight. But among the Hashira fighting on the front lines, there was one who never carried a blade, yet made everyone keep their distance. "Why bother cutting off their heads? Just ask them to go sunbathe~" (The opening is a slow burn. Please give this silly story a chance and stick with it until the second volume, Chapter 17.) But at nineteen, to everyone's surprise, she failed to medal at the Olympics held in her own country. With the first bronze medal of her life, Dan Yang calmly returned to her hometown to recover from her injury. There, by chance, she ran into Yi Chen, the little boy who had once followed her around in elementary school, now a musical theater prince, and in a situation mysteriously similar to her own. Although he was more handsome than before, had a better voice, and even confessed his feelings to her, Dan Yang was convinced that single skaters didn't need love. She rejected him, saying she had to win another Olympic gold medal, then ran away. But she never expected that her cold, dismissive words would somehow turn into, in his mind, "I'll date you after I win one more Olympic gold." Whenever she tries to discuss this with Yi Chen, the smiling musical theater prince uses his warm, jade-like voice to help her analyze the meaning behind her chosen music. He helps her deliver more perfect performances and break world records again and again. After breaking so many world records, she starts to think that dating after winning one more Olympic gold might not be so bad after all. Reader's notes: 1. Set in a parallel world. No real-life figure skaters or musical theater actors are involved. 2. The characters are not based on real people. Please do not associate them with anyone. 3.
