As the 28th-generation disciple of the Guishan Sect, Qiao Jiyu had no interest in exorcising ghosts or hunting demons. What she loved was becoming a star in the entertainment industry.
She worked her way up for two hard years. Although she became famous, audiences saw her as nothing but a pretty face, a useless ornament. Hordes of haters told her to get out of showbiz, and her rivals took every chance to put her down.
Qiao Jiyu didn't want to be just a pretty face. To prove herself, she did everything she could to get close to big-name directors. One day, she finally received an invitation from a renowned director in the industry, offering her the role of the fourth female lead in a film.
When filming began, she hid in a small grove to practice her lines. A ghost she had no idea where had come from laughed at her, mocking her terrible acting and vacant stare.
Beside herself with indignation, Qiao Jiyu yelled, "You're a ghost! What the hell do you know?"
To her surprise, the ghost immediately gave her a jaw-dropping performance. When he was done, he brought over another ghost, who also delivered a jaw-dropping performance.
Surrounded by ghosts who mocked her, Qiao Jiyu flew into a rage and caught several of them. In a fit of anger, she decided to quit showbiz. If these ghosts were such good actors, she'd bundle them all up and put them to work for her!
In recent years, audiences had been tormented by celebrities in the entertainment industry. Just as everyone was giving up hope and accepting their fate, the company Unknown Creatures appeared out of nowhere.
Its signed artists were good-looking and had god-tier acting skills, saving audiences from misery. The only catch was that every one of them looked miserable in interviews, complaining that their boss was a demon in human form who exploited her employees.
Fans rushed to defend their idols and dug into Unknown Creatures. At last, they uncovered its boss, Qiao Jiyu.
The next day, a post dominated the trending topics on a popular forum.
