Dear Uncle Ryunosuke,
I hope this letter finds you well.
Thanks to you, I have arrived at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, just as you wished. You once described it to me as the starting point of all your adventures, and as the unforgettable place where you found all the friendships, love, and respect of your life. I believed you wholeheartedly, and looked forward to beginning my own lifelong adventures and journey at Hogwarts.
However, on this glorious first day of term,
I can already tell you with complete confidence that I have experienced the most thrilling adventure of my life, right at the start of this journey.
And I have also (been forced to) spend this wonderful (damned) first night with two brave and fearless (idiot) classmates. Following your teachings, I believe they will become great wizards one day...
But that still doesn't explain how that blondie used Apparition to send our entire train carriage careening off the tracks and straight into the Whomping Willow!
[Offscreen voice: Hey, Hiro! Spiders! There! There's a spider crawling up! Aaaaaah!]
Dear Uncle Ryunosuke, the scenery outdoors is lovely, and the night at Hogwarts is beautiful.
I watched with my own eyes as the boats on the Black Lake carried my other classmates to shore. Professor Holmes seemed very anxious. He was laughing so hard he was nearly bent double and hiccuping, but I still believe he wanted to find us.
So from halfway across the castle grounds, I did my best to smile at him from the Whomping Willow, to show the gentlemanly manners you taught me.
But he happened to turn away.
I'm sure Professor Holmes didn't do it on purpose... Don't you think? :)
[Offscreen voice: It's...it's taken care of! Hey, Zero, how are we supposed to get down? Is it really okay to miss the Sorting Ceremony?]
Anyway, I've prepared myself to spend the night outdoors.
Aside from the cold, the spiders, the snakes, the bugs all over the branches, and the willow branches that keep smacking me, the night view really is lovely. I only wish I had brought the copy of Wild Survival I haven't finished reading.
...All right, I really do want to go home.
[Offscreen voice: Aaaaaah, a snake! Aaaaaah, Zero! Aaaaaah!]
Anyway, you're welcome to come get me anytime... Why am I here? When can I get down?
I feel like my adventure can end early.
Love,
Your nephew,
Kaoru
1. Utterly ridiculous style: the daily (tribulation-surviving) chaos of Ravenclaws Kaoru and Hiromitsu, and Gryffindor Zero.
2. Gryffindor Matsuda doesn't want to talk, and throws a Quidditch ball at you.
3. Ding-dong! You've received a dance invitation text from Hufflepuff Hagiwara. Would you like to open it?
[Yes/No]
Theme: Magical adventures (surviving tribulations), from getting started to giving up.
