The Little Panda's Transformation [Journey to the West]

Paba is a red panda, not a giant panda cub.

He has round cheeks and a thick tail, and he loves standing upright with his hands raised high to show off how mighty and tall he is.

Since shapeshifting has been forbidden in the twenty-first century, his master sent him back over a thousand years to the Zhenguan era, saying he could find a way to become human there.

Clutching his big apple, Paba stood in the wilderness, utterly miserable.

Would the Tang Dynasty have a zoo where he could get free meals?

What? Demons get beaten to death here?

Help!

The red panda turned and darted into a ravine, seeking refuge with Great King Black Wind, whose name also had the character for bear in it.

Unfortunately, his meal ticket didn't last long. A monkey led a group of people up the mountain, and Paba lost his caretaker.

You there! Do you think you're a golden snub-nosed monkey?

How dare you bully a red panda!

You got rid of my caretaker, so now you can take care of me!

The little red panda snuck into the luggage of the group of four. Today, too, he was doing his best to become human.
