My Fiancé Is an Impostor

Yuan Baochun is beautiful and graceful, with a gentle, kind nature. Every man in town dreams of having her as his wife.

Unfortunately, before she was even born, her family arranged her betrothal to a man she'd never met.

They say his family fell into ruin long ago, and he's a sickly man who's been bedridden for years!

Everyone feels sorry for her, but Yuan Baochun takes it in stride.

One day, her fiancé arrives, bringing lots of medicinal tonics to visit her.

Instead, she comes face-to-face with a tall, distinguished man.

He gives a faint smile, his eyes full of cold scrutiny.

"You're my fiancée?"

Yuan Baochun doesn't catch his dismissive tone. Her ears redden as she nods.

Tang Wushan, the legitimate son of the Duke of Tang, is beset on all sides. He fakes his death and temporarily escapes to the southeast. With no other choice, he takes the identity of a dying young man.

The young man has a fiancée he's never met. She's naive and believes everything she's told, so she's easy to fool.

She calls him Brother Wushan at every turn, bringing him medicine, meals, and clothes, and truly treats him as her future husband.

At first, Tang Wushan is annoyed beyond belief and just wants to shed this identity and return to the capital as soon as possible.

But later, as he looks at the little fiancée by his side, he thinks...

Her fiancé died of illness anyway. Maybe he could take his place and do a better job.

He's richer, more handsome, and in better health.

And he'll treat Yuan Baochun well for the rest of his life.

Later, the two go shopping together and happen to run into a young scholar from East Street while buying pastries. Yuan Baochun peeks out and sweetly calls, "Brother Changli."

Tang Wushan smiles, but crushes a packet of piping-hot pastries in his hand.

Only later does he learn that Yuan Baochun calls everyone Brother!

He grits his teeth and asks with a smile, "Who did Bao'er just call brother?"

"I'm the only one who's your brother."
