The Entertainment Industry Wage Slave Never Wanted to Be Famous

Lin Zihang transmigrated into an expendable agent in an entertainment-industry wish-fulfillment novel.

The company the original character worked for had a wealthy young heir who'd run away from home during his rebellious phase to become an entertainer, a top-tier star drowning in scandals and on the verge of being canceled, and a handsome new actor with outstanding looks but terrible acting skills who was accused of using backdoor connections...

In the end, each of them would overcome their troubles, face-slap their rivals, and become the protagonist of an entertainment-industry wish-fulfillment story.

The original character was the only exception. He worked hard to serve the company's entertainers, but got no appreciation in return. He took the blame for the company, was mocked by the wealthy young heir, abused by the top-tier star's fans, and loathed by viewers across the internet.

Working man Lin Zihang clenched his fists.

Everyone in this wish-fulfillment story gets to feel good except me? What gives? I'm done putting up with this!

On the day he resigned, his boss handed him 500,000 yuan. "The company didn't do well this year, so this is all you get for your year-end bonus."

Lin Zihang: ?

It's not about the money. I just want to give the company's entertainers a warm home.

As for swallowing their mistreatment, he can't do that

He kept putting pressure on the wealthy young heir, who was hiding his identity, but just as the young heir was about to give in and ask his family for help, Lin Zihang accidentally let his "true feelings" show.

"So all his strictness was for my own good."

He criticized the new actor's skills to his face and mocked him along with everyone else, but secretly helped him make connections so he could switch to singing. Then, he accidentally got "found out."

"So Brother Lin is all bark and no bite."

He gave the beautiful top-tier star, who had been starved of love since childhood, a sense of human connection, secretly offering warmth until he accidentally "revealed his identity."

"So the person I've always longed for has been right beside me all along."

Later...

At the Huaguo Golden Melody Awards, the newly crowned national singing sensation wept with emotion. "The person I'm most grateful to is Brother Lin."

During a livestream interview, the top-tier star answered with a tender gaze, "My type? Of course it's our agent."

And when a certain faction tried to smear Lin Zihang, the wealthy young heir immediately sought help from his older brother, the CEO. The faction was so frightened that it apologized and promised never to try anything underhanded again.

At the entertainment industry's most influential figures poll, held once every five years, countless dazzling stars were nominated: actors, singers, idols... But when the final votes came in, the winner wasn't a star at all. It was an agent.

All the entertainers under Lin Zihang: I don't care if I win an award. Brother Lin/Ahang/Zihang has to win.

Lin Zihang, who had initially only wanted to get his full year-end bonus: ?
