After Bai Zhu fails to ascend, she realizes life is short and people should enjoy it while they can. She willingly gives up her chance to start over and seals away her powers, deciding to spend a carefree century in the mortal world.
But then she falls in love at first sight with a sickly fortune-teller on the roadside, and from then on, no matter how far the road takes them, she becomes his faithful yes-woman.
The fortune-teller has a hard life. He spends cold, damp nights in the mountains, growing sicker and coughing nonstop. When the weather turns bitterly cold, he has no money for warm clothes and shivers miserably.
Bai Zhu cares for him devotedly and worries about him constantly.
But the sickly man is stubborn and won't accept her kindness.
"Little girl, you shouldn't waste such precious love on someone like me."
That damn fortune-teller ends up falling for a fox spirit!
*
Inside the fox's lair, Bai Zhu kills the fox demon in a bloody fight. Trembling, she approaches the man, who has been afflicted by a Love-and-Union Gu.
After all, he has repaid her kindness with ingratitude, been unbearably dense, and refused to heed her good advice. He really isn't worthy of her.
In a rush of passion, she loses herself.
The next morning, Bai Zhu comes to her senses, feels like her brain has short-circuited, and decides they should part amicably.
But then the evil demon's elders come looking for trouble.
Bai Zhu frowns, preparing to break her seal.
The sickly man pulls her into his arms, trembling. The sword changes hands, and with one slash, the great demon falls dead on the spot.
*
Standing in front of the Sword Pavilion, Bai Zhu still has one question: "So whose father was the man you took revenge on in the mortal world back then?"
*
The Sword Pavilion holds a formal trial, and all her old friends look grim.
The Pavilion Master waves her fan vigorously. "I'm glad you survived your failed ascension. Everyone in the Sword Pavilion wants to congratulate you. But isn't stealing the Sword Venerable's heir taking things a bit too far?"
Bai Zhu awkwardly laughs twice to hide her delight.
The Sword Venerable draws his sword three inches from its sheath, sword qi soaring into the sky. "Die!"
CP:
An all-maxed-out heroine who's average with a sword but a master diviner * a sickly hero who's a terrible diviner but peerless with a sword
A few things to note:
1. I'm a struggling writer who types whatever comes to mind, so please keep the discussion friendly.
2. The leads are strictly monogamous and have only ever been with each other.
3. It's a tragic romance, but there isn't much angst, so you could call it half a sweet romance.
Theme: Fate brings people together, but it still takes effort to make it work.
So innocent that I don't know what to comment ()
Ha
/ If you plant one, it will produce many updated chapters.
Go to the girl's side.
I am even more worried about Mr. Chen. Something seems to be wrong. Should I catch a bug or say that Miss Chen has been raped?
Hahahahahahahahaha
Come on, damn it!!!
Atractylodes: Just a small talk to show concern. Gu Mu: It's over! She loves me so much! What do I do?!
This bad guy Jiang Qiu is really lucky to meet three beauties.
First, I feel that the relationship between the male and female protagonists is not explained clearly. It's just a vague statement that they are not separated... The emotional scenes are really a bit unclear, there is no feeling of love or hurt, and it always feels like something is missing. Second, the little police who got the land were dispatched, but they couldn't tell the difference, and there were a lot of typos. Sometimes the name of character A is written into something about B, which can easily look weird. Third, the transition is a bit abrupt, a bit like the NPCs in TV series are relatively thin. Fourth, that Mu xx can be regarded as the second female lead, but why she was in the lower world was not explained very clearly in the end. Instead, she kept hinting that she would die in the lower world. In the end, she easily sent a message and that was it... I saw that the author kept saying that Carvin was very powerful, but the tail was too hasty... I liked the characters and bought them, but I felt a little sad. I felt that the author did not treat these characters well (personal opinion)
