Three Years into Our Marriage, My Wife Wants a Divorce

In their two years of marriage, Fu Rongjiang and Wei Xun have been the celebrated golden couple of the capital, a match made in heaven.

Whenever people praise their devoted relationship, Fu Rongjiang simply smiles serenely. In truth, the two of them are only putting on an act for everyone else.

Wei Xun was pressured by his family to marry, while Fu Rongjiang was in poor health and didn't want to get married. They hit it off and became a fake couple, agreeing to divorce after three years.

Wei Xun treats her wonderfully, but Fu Rongjiang knows he has someone else in his heart. There are no feelings between them.

With the three-year deadline approaching and the Wei family elders pressuring them, Fu Rongjiang brings up the divorce with Wei Xun.

At the autumn hunt, Fu Rongjiang jokingly asks for a fur, so Wei Xun hunts a snow fox from the far north.

In winter, Wei Xun makes her a white fur coat himself and warms her feet with a soak at night.

When the snow melts in spring, she wants to bathe in the hot springs, but Wei Xun rescues her while she's naked.

During a summer downpour, Fu Rongjiang is terrified of thunder and crawls into his arms on her own, falling asleep peacefully.

One day at a banquet, Fu Rongjiang has a couple too many cups of fruit wine and can't hold her liquor. When she wakes up, their eyes meet.

Wei Xun: It's all my fault. I couldn't control myself when you were acting so spoiled and making a fuss.

They've crossed the point of no return.

Well, they're married anyway. Fu Rongjiang doesn't dwell on it too much, but brings up divorce again.

It isn't until she's diagnosed as pregnant that Fu Rongjiang finally understands.

Divorce. They have to get divorced!

Wei Xun holds her close and rubs her dainty toes. "Are you planning to keep the child and get rid of the father, my dear?"

He says darkly, "Not a chance."
