[After this ranking ends, I'll stop updating until my backlog is complete. A family member is sick and back in the hospital, and I've lost a bit of inspiration, but I promise I'll finish the story.]
Coming soon: My Whaling Player Might Be Dead. The blurb is at the bottom. If you're interested, please add it to your favorites.
Floods, droughts, earthquakes, tsunamis, extreme weather... Disasters are happening all over the world, as if the apocalypse is coming. But what does that have to do with four high school freshmen?
It does.
On the first day of school, a dormitory brawl broke out. They pointed at one another and shouted insults, wishing humanity would go extinct right then and there and take the people they hated with it.
And so they really did transmigrate to a future where humanity had gone extinct.
A hundred years in the future, humanity is extinct. All that remains are some spirit beasts that evolved because of natural disasters, barely surviving on dwindling resources. Their guide, a spirit beast, earnestly tells the four that they must embark on a series of adventures within a set time limit, risk life and limb to defeat the forces of evil, and recover the world's vitality to protect it from imminent collapse.
The warriors carefully selected to save the world all offer their important opinions:
Mu Ying: When do we start? Can we wait until after my college entrance exams?
Hanzhou: What does this have to do with me?
Xu Ning: Humanity went extinct? Is that true? That's wonderful news!
Yanguang: ...
Is there any chance of saving this world, or any reason to try?
* Blurb drafted on 2024.8.22. A classic, passionate adventure story with an ensemble cast, featuring the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth.
* The setting is made up by the author. It's both traditional and not traditional (?). Think of a world-saving story like Armor Hero or Lelexia, with some mildly frightening scenes.
* The author's intelligence is limited, so let's just get fired up first!!!
Coming-soon blurb: My Whaling Player Might Be Dead
On the eve of her ascension, Luo Fengzhu gave up the chance to become an immortal.
She had once hit rock bottom, driven out of her home into the freezing wind. She had also wielded her sword to slay a demon god and become famous overnight, earning the reverence of the entire cultivation world.
But she would never forget the day, as a child, when she was about to freeze to death. A voice suddenly rang out, crying as it said, "How can you not survive either? Stay alive. I'll top up your account."
Luo Fengzhu got a warm place to live and a chance to cultivate. Though she could never respond, that voice stayed with her through half her life as she rose to the top, never once absent.
Luo Fengzhu knew that the voice belonged to an ordinary person in another world. She knew the girl was still struggling to afford food and warmth. She knew that, always laughing and crying, she kept saying, "Hang in there. I want to lie flat and enjoy my retirement." She was a lively, resilient girl.
But she died. She gave Luo Fengzhu her final resources and said, "I don't have the strength to keep going anymore."
"You're almost at the end of the game. That's great. At least you've found happiness."
Luo Fengzhu gave up everything and finally found a way to connect with another world.
I'll search the heavens and the earth and give up everything. I have to bring you back to the world of the living.
On the night she was bullied and fired, An An cried in the rain as she scrolled through ads, until she came across a girl in a game who was on the verge of death.
That girl looked so real, so wretched, so much like a living person, and so much like An An herself at that moment.
An An paid for her, cheered her on, and was happy whenever she was happy.
Until one day, the game's repetitive voice lines turned into real replies. Those bright eyes looked out through the screen and said to her:
"An An, I finally found you."
I know you're trapped in the mud right now, in pain, frightened, and despairing. You can't find happiness or hope, and exhaustion has taken over your whole life.
But please stay alive. Every day you survive brings you one step closer to what you want.
Until, at last, you can reach out and touch the sky.
