[Online Game] Lure the Dog In and Take It Out

[Sorry, I ran out of inspiration for the old idea, so I'm switching to a modern setting. This is a short, sweet story with a keyboard-and-mouse online game.]

The martial arts MMORPG Record of Wulin Storms is currently a popular online game with a thriving forum community.

Yuan Guanning likes to browse the forum whenever she has some free time.

It's no wonder. The Wulin Storms players are all so enthusiastic and good at talking, and there are tons of hilarious gossip posts. Who wouldn't like it?

One day, she was wandering around the forum as usual when she spotted a gossip thread. She clicked in without hesitation, but after reading only a few pages, she backed out looking completely bewildered.

At the end of the thread, people were saying, "I'm crying so hard. You actually wrote 117 posts just to show off your relationship!"

Yuan Guanning, who found every detail eerily familiar, said, "Fang Yan'an, get over here! You promised we'd never bring up that embarrassing old history again!"

Someone once said, "Love at first sight is just being attracted to someone's looks."

Fang Yan'an thought that made sense.

After all, he himself had fallen in love at first sight with someone from the neighboring platoon during high school military training.

After finally finding out their name and class, he excitedly went to confess, only to be rejected on the grounds that they needed to focus on getting into college.

The academic underachiever was shocked, devastated, confused, and ready to turn over a new leaf!

He studied hard for three years and finally got into the university his crush had casually mentioned, only to discover that they hadn't even left him a way to get in touch!

A heartbroken Fang Yan'an picked up his long-neglected game character, intending to drown his sorrows alone. But then someone in the YY voice channel suddenly asked, "I just picked up a newbie. Does anyone have time to show them the ropes?"

Looking at the game ID they'd posted in the guild channel, Fang Yan'an thought, Could someone really be foolish enough to use their real name online?

But he said, "Leave it to me!"
