Reunited After the Expiration Date

The year Xu Huiyin really got to know Fang Jishu, she didn't have a very good impression of him. By then, he was already popular with women and in his element among them.

She'd heard he wasn't the sort to stay faithful for long, yet people still threw themselves at him like moths to a flame.

Xu Huiyin never believed in bad omens. She seemed obedient on the surface, but loved taking the road less traveled.

In the most critical year of high school, she chose to sell herself for a future.

She thought it would be a fleeting affair, but she sank deeper and deeper. Their tumultuous relationship only truly began to surge after the college entrance exams.

Time wore away the love wrapped around the surface, and a relationship growing more twisted with every passing day gradually came to light.

If the one who was wronged no longer has to suffer, does that settle this sordid score?

All time leaves behind is the wreckage of growing up.

"Our love was real, and it was cruel."

A boyish, fatherly, possessive people-pleaser x a sensitive, brooding, delicate beauty with a sickly disposition

Content warnings:

This is not a 1v1 pure-love story. Human nature has both light and dark sides.

Special mix:

The husband-chasing crematorium trope, pure love at first, twisted later, melodramatic madness, and warped values. The heroine is a scumbag, then the hero is a scumbag. Neither has a powerful protagonist halo, and neither is purely good.

Important, repeated three times:

If this bothers you, don't read. If this bothers you, don't read. If this bothers you, don't read!!!

P.S. A romance-focused writing exercise. The author is letting loose, with both sweetness and angst, and no chapters written in advance.
