The Young Emperor Was Assigned to the Joyous Union Sect

[Since I have nothing to do as the Celestial Emperor, I might as well straighten out this sickly Ninth Heaven]

My name is Sui Heng. I am the Celestial Emperor of the Ninth Heaven, a god of the four seas and eight wastelands. Mortals pray for the gods' mercy, but I am a merciless god.

When I took the throne, the world was at peace. The previous Celestial Emperor had killed the Ghost Emperor of the Ghost Path, my father had cut the core from the most evil cultivator in the mortal realm, and the gates of the Infernal Prison opened and closed at my command.

Quite a few immortals said I was coasting on the work of others, that I had no ability of my own and had simply lucked into a great opportunity. I'd heard these things since childhood, and by the time I grew up, I finally understood what they meant.

I knew I had no achievements of my own and couldn't win their respect, so I banished every immortal who accused me of coasting to the Infernal Prison.

Later, some immortals said I lacked my father's magnanimity and broad-mindedness. Ashamed of my shortcomings, I imprisoned the dozen or so people who had made that comparison in the River of Three Crossings.

I know the heavens don't belong to just one person, but I also know they have no place for celestial officials who have time to gossip but not to do their jobs.

I was sick of this all-white heaven, so I dressed in red and green and took my seat on the throne in the divine hall.

This time, no one dared speak out of turn. At last, they began reporting on the state of the mortal realm to me.

To gain the qualifications needed to sit in this position, I took Siming's advice and went through a trial in the mortal realm.

I was supposed to follow in my father's footsteps, enter the Unfeeling Path, ascend to immortality, and complete my cultivation. But when the entrance exam results came out, I received some devastating news.

Fellow cultivator: "Young master, your score isn't high enough. You'll have to transfer to another sect."

Me: "Which sect?"

Fellow cultivator: "The Hehuan Sect."

Me: ?

Sui Heng: "Didn't I sign a ghost servant contract, little ghost?"

The other party: "No, it's a marriage contract from the Netherworld."
