Taming a Mermaid

Yun Jingzhi is a beast tamer, descended from the empire's finest beast tamers. Water-type spirit beasts cannot live on land for long, making them the most precious kind of spirit beast. Beast tamers whose bloodlines carry water-type spiritual power have the strongest attribute, but without a suitable spirit beast, they are more or less forced to leave the profession. On Yun Jingzhi's eighteenth birthday, tests revealed that the spiritual power in their body was the rare water type. From then on, Yun Jingzhi was transferred out of the advanced class and forced to leave the Imperial Academy. Someone who had been specially trained since childhood became one of the most ordinary people overnight. Even at twenty-four, Yun Jingzhi had yet to find their fated spirit beast. Just as Yun Jingzhi was about to resign themself to a mediocre life, a mermaid with a broken tail appeared in the shallows. Yun Jingzhi: Will you form a bond with me? The little mermaid looked at the grilled fish in Su Chaonan's hand and nodded in terror. Since Yun Jingzhi couldn't form a bond with an adult spirit beast for now, they decided to raise one themself and bond with it later. They would tame it, raise it, and even teach the little mermaid to speak human language. The little mermaid was sweet and obedient, more beautiful and gentle than an ordinary spirit beast. Looking at the little thing in the bathtub, Su Chaonan began to doubt the fighting ability of water-type spirit beasts. That is, until the little mermaid reached adulthood. On the night they formed their bond, their fingers interlaced as a powerful tail pinned Su Chaonan in a corner. Mermaid: Didn't you say we were going to bond? How come you can't take it so soon? Yun Jingzhi: I said bond, not fucking mate! Get out! #While you were waiting for me, I searched everywhere for you and still couldn't find you# A top predator of the Fallen Coast (gong) x a rare water-type beast tamer (shou) Theme: Refusing to settle for mediocrity
