The pursuer is the pursued's maternal uncle, and the pursued is the pursuer's eldest nephew (they are not blood-related).

Twenty-three years after the great disaster, life seems to have settled down. Then suddenly, the tranquillity is shattered by microscopic spores drifting down from the sky. The spores parasitize humans, and people gradually awaken supernatural abilities.

But Tan Shen is the only person in all of Huaxia without an ability.

At first, everyone assumes Tan Shen won't survive the first wave of zombies and gets ready to throw him out as a human shield. Then they see the man who cuts his way through every obstacle to eliminate all danger for him, charging in from behind...

Everyone: We spoke too soon...

As the zombie virus begins to spread across the world and human civilization completely collapses, survival of the fittest becomes the first rule.

Ordinary person Tan Shen: "It's no big deal. My uncle, Huaxia's number one ability user, will protect me."

In a safe zone that seems calm but is rife with undercurrents, Tan Shen discovers that someone is conducting human experiments. Then a mysterious organization starts quietly keeping an eye on him.

The base is destroyed, his friends and family suffer, and he watches his uncle throw himself in front of him to take a fatal blow, leaving him on the brink of death.

Tan Shen erupts in a furious outburst, and an overwhelming tide of supernatural power sweeps across Huaxia...

[Bonus Scene 1]

Inside his uncle's sprawling mansion...

Tan Shen's eyes are red, his long lashes damp with tears, but that doesn't stop him from turning around with a teasing smile and flirting:

"Uncle... Little Uncle... Little Uncle..."

Professor Chang's temple twitches. Gritting his teeth, he grabs Tan Shen by the hair from behind, furious:

"Aren't you always so familiar with me, calling me by my name? Why are you suddenly being so well-behaved?"

The gossiping crowd offstage: You two seem a little distant. We suggest getting closer, thanks.

The paparazzi offstage: Professor Chang, Tan Shen is your eldest nephew. Why would you do this to him? How dare you!

Professor Chang pulls Tan Shen close. "This is my beloved."

The beauty Tan Shen nestles in Chang Jiyang's arms and shoots the paparazzi a withering glare. They suffer a little emotional damage...

[Reading Guide]

[Pay attention] The pursuer is eight years older than the pursued. They are not related by blood in any way, and aren't even actually relatives! [Pay attention]

1. Apocalypse / zombies / equally matched leads / happy ending / one-on-one

2. The pursuer is a top-tier powerhouse, but there are still things he can't handle.

The pursued grows stronger over time. He's unhinged and lovesick at first, but later becomes incredibly powerful.

Please allow the characters to have human flaws. If you like perfect characters, this may not be for you.

3. The pursued protagonist's "pet" has abilities in addition to being good at talking, but it awakens rather late.

4. The zombie lords are inspired by the Old Testament, The World's Ten Great Demons, Supernatural, and so on. Any out-of-character moments are on me.

5. Some details are made up, so please don't take them too seriously.
