The live-action version of Hikaru no Go
He Annian
The reincarnation of the little princess of Beixia. She loves Go, though before being reborn, she was a complete martial arts fanatic.
Xiao Jin
A prince of an enemy kingdom who loves Go.
They came to understand and cherish each other, and fell in love. The princess could have lived carefree, and the prince could have enjoyed his freedom. But when ministers forced her into a desperate corner, the princess chose to drown herself in a lake. On his way back to his kingdom, the prince heard the news and followed her in death.
The princess was reborn, and took up Go, the game Xiao Jin had loved, hoping to meet him in her next life. After Xiao Jin took his own life, his soul feared that he and the princess would become strangers again. Unwilling to be reborn, he attached himself to the spear she loved, hoping to be with her in the next life.
Unfortunately, after a car accident, Annian was confined to a wheelchair for life. No matter how much she loved wielding a spear in her past or present life, she could no longer do so.
In this life, Xiao Jin was only the spirit of a spear. Their hope of being together for all eternity seemed destined to remain a dream.
But when Annian helped her grandfather clean out the storeroom, she accidentally awakened Xiao Jin, who had been asleep for many years.
The spirit Xiao Jin stayed by Annian's side, chatting, teaching her Go, and keeping her company. And so it remained.
Xiao Jin hoped Annian would earn her professional Go qualification and take that first step.
Later, carrying her feelings for Xiao Jin in her heart, Annian entered a professional tournament with Shiguang.
At Annian's urging, Xiao Jin entered the cycle of rebirth. Before leaving, he promised that he would be by her side in every life.
At last, Annian met him the following spring.
