But his cousin has to leave for work, and Yang Yue unexpectedly runs into Chen Yuhai, fresh out of the shower, his fit, muscular body on full display.
The young man looks sleepy, his features unfamiliar. His gaze is cool and impatient as he sizes Yang Yue up.
Yang Yue sets down the basket of eggs and other local specialties he's carrying, puts one hand on his hip, and regards the young man suspiciously.
He thinks, "Could this be the Chen family's illegitimate son my mother mentioned, the one who refuses to inherit the family fortune, calls my cousin his brother, and occasionally crashes at his place?"
As he's thinking this, his cousin calls. Not only does he confirm Yang Yue's guess, he also tells Chen Yuhai to take him out to eat.
Perhaps for his cousin's sake, dinner goes fairly smoothly. Yang Yue looks at the expensive menu, then at the gloom in Chen Yuhai's eyes.
