Echoes of the Apocalypse

A thousand years ago, a sudden mantle plume event erupted, plunging the entire planet into another mass extinction. Lava, acid rain, poisonous gas, lack of oxygen... Relentless natural disasters divided the survivors into shelters of various sizes, each developing in isolation for over a thousand years.

Now, after years of dormancy, volcanic activity has begun to stir once more. In search of a green refuge where people can survive for the long term, the ace scout of Shelter No. 0, "Gucheng," is ordered to transmigrate across the extinction zone, document the new Earth that has been cut off from humanity for a thousand years, and establish contact with the other shelters.

Before she sets out, however, she is ordered to bring along a mysterious girl sealed inside a data capsule. The girl claims to come from a thousand years ago, from the old humanity that was never harmed by the extinction.

As Gucheng explores the apocalyptic world further, her imagined vision of peace finally shatters. The various factions clash violently over the few resources left. Meanwhile, as Gucheng searches for a hidden utopia, she receives an echo from a thousand years in the past...

"Go, fearless explorer. You will become the first human in a thousand years to travel across the new world."

1. The main focus is on the plot. The romance is a subtle subplot, woven into the banter along the journey.

2. The setting is broadly based on the Permian mass extinction, but intensified, making survival conditions extremely harsh.

3. The heroine is a true powerhouse, with off-the-charts combat ability. But she doesn't use her strength to bully others, and follows her own unique principles.
