I Became the Beloved of Five Marvel Legends at Once

Evelyn wakes from a six-year “hibernation.” All she wanted was to become an actress and save up a little money for retirement, but she discovers that her career is “blessed by the heavens” and also “seriously weird.”

A superhero promotes the low-budget web drama she stars in before reporters from across America, and its ratings skyrocket overnight. She accidentally falls from a wire, and the “Son of Krypton” swoops in to catch her in a bridal carry. A moving image of her long skirt fluttering in the wind makes the whole world swoon. Someone else uses under-the-table favors to steal the lead role she was promised, but Gotham’s richest man, whom she’s never even met, pays several times the amount just to insist that she get the part. And when a major villain from American comics invades Earth, he spares every theater displaying a poster of Evelyn, until every household ends up with one of her posters.

Only then does Evelyn suddenly realize that...

Six years ago, the quiet boy she risked her life to protect became the “Bat” Knight who guards Gotham.

The autistic child she took in and cared for is now the “Son of Krypton,” a being who stands shoulder to shoulder with the gods.

The boy she saved and warned that “life matters more than science” is now the leader of the Avengers, nicknamed “Tin Can.”

And the man who fell from the sky, battered and bloody, whom she carried from one emergency room to another all across New York... is actually the incarnation of the strongest BOSS in American comics, the ruler of Apokolips?

Evelyn: “...”

This is freaking ridiculous.

People used to think Evelyn was just a little star who kept manufacturing dating rumors with superheroes to chase clout.

But later, when the “Son of Krypton” swooped in to save her with a bridal carry, she sat on “Tin Can’s” shoulders and sang, and she gazed out over Gotham at night with the “Bat” Knight...

People were astonished to discover that...

Evelyn was the one being pursued all along???
