Eli is a Hollywood director, blessed with extraordinary talent and an unspoiled heart.
But after repeated box-office flops leave him bankrupt, his personality suddenly awakens.
It turns out he's just a bit-part character in the sandbox game "Earth Online."
He travels through various parallel worlds, with the same mission every time: to play NPCs who "cling to their ideals, then die bankrupt." He's already lived through more than a hundred rounds of this life.
Along the way, he honed himself into a top-tier talent, but the System's settings always drove him to make highbrow films that bankrupted him.
After his personality awakens, Eli turns to the dark side.
"I've gone bankrupt and died over a hundred times, always for my ideals. So... ideals can go to hell."
"Ideals are dead. Making money is king."
Eli becomes Hollywood's most unscrupulous, unprincipled director and mogul.
He makes movies that skirt the line, rips off other films, slashes costs to the bone, and will shoot anything.
He should have become the world's laughingstock.
Yet...
He becomes a legend and a standard-setter in the film industry,
and the "only person who gets rich through sheer ability, without a stain on his reputation."
Reporter: "Your film Amalda set a box-office record, but everyone says you rode Avatar's coattails. Do you admit it?"
Eli: "It looks like the original, but its box office and ratings are both worse than mine. So whose problem is that?"
Reporter: "Your new movie's box office exploded as soon as it opened, yet you're so stingy you even charge people to look at the poster. Audiences are crying that you could have made a terrible movie to launder money, but instead you chose to rob them in plain sight. Do you admit it?"
Eli: "I do."
Reporter: "You cut costs to the absolute minimum in every film. There are only a few people on set, and you reuse the same locations over and over. How do you keep making box-office hits despite being so cheap?"
Eli: "You should ask other people why they can't do it."
Reporter: "Your suggestive film received rave reviews and swept the Oscars. Is this what truly sophisticated art looks like?"
Eli: "? There's no art in pushing the boundaries. It's just about making money."
Eli doesn't talk about ideals, has no sincerity, and cares only about making money.
In the end, he becomes the film industry's greatest crook, its biggest villain,
and the most decorated, world-renowned director in human history!
"His conscience has been chewed up by dogs. He uses his talent to trick audiences into paying for films that have no sincerity whatsoever. And yet, incredibly... people are crying and begging him to have even less of a conscience!", Time Magazine
