Cicada Rain

Cheng Cheng once had a crush on someone.

Back then, he was a famous figure at school, and Cheng Cheng was just one of his many admirers... an unremarkable one.

She watched him fall in love with someone else, then break up.

She stayed by his side when he got drunk and carefully acted like one of the guys.

He was proud and arrogant, trampling her kindness into the dirt.

When Cheng Cheng finally gave up hope, he came back to her like a madman.

He wrote Cheng Cheng a long letter:

“Chengzi, I want to apologize to you. And I want to tell you that I love you.”

“I never gave you any of my tenderness or affection because I was a coward.”

“You're the only one who understands me. I've always known that.”

“If there's a next life, I hope we can have a good beginning, like childhood friends.”

Cheng Cheng had planned to reply, “I wish you well.” After much hesitation, she deleted the words she'd typed.

She only believed in this life. What's missed is missed.

Later, she met someone else.

They had almost no interests in common, and their upbringings were completely different.

But he understood tenderness, and he understood love.

Cheng Cheng was happy with him.
