Does the Cat Detective Dream of Ghost Jingguang?

(Read the warnings at the end of the blurb.)

-

Aiba Shouniao, a little cat yokai who considers himself the cleverest in Hachihara, happens to come across a detective manga.

Captivated by the detective character, he gets help from his friend Natsume and becomes Hachihara's one and only detective!

As his reputation grows, the official Yokai Management Department takes notice of him.

Aiba Shouniao pulls his little cloak tight. "The Yokai Management Department invited me! Now I'm a little cat with a job, too!"

-

With the department's help, he moves to Beika Town, where cases happen all the time, and opens a tiny detective agency.

In his second month there, Aiba Shouniao finds a ghost, one named Hiro.

Hiro is a wonderful ghost. Though he's lost most of his memories from when he was alive, he's still incredibly capable.

He's caring, a great cook, and has the sweetest personality.

Aiba Shouniao decides to stick by his side and never leave.

-

"Even if you get your memories back, don't think you can leave me behind!" The little cat bares his claws. "I'm the one who found you when you were about to disappear!"

Warnings:

1. The only character who dies is Matsuda, who died a month before Hiromitsu. Hagiwara died too early to bring back (heartbroken.jpg).

2. This story focuses on daily life, with very little main plot. If you only want to read about the Red and Black conflict, this isn't for you.

3. Please don't derail the discussion. You're welcome to discuss the plot in the comments. If you drop the story, there's no need to tell me and spoil my mood.

4. [Most important]

Aiba Shouniao is the author's OC, but not a self-insert romance character. His pairing with Hiromitsu is only for this novel, and the actual character settings have nothing to do with Natsume's Book of Friends or Detective Conan!
