Song Wan occasionally glanced at the person with reddened ears, reclining quietly on the sofa, then picked up a pencil and made a few convincing-looking marks on the paper.

The junior had always been obedient. Everything was going according to her plan.

Until one day, he discovered the pages covered in her random scribbles and realized the eager little thoughts she had been struggling to hide beneath her serious expression while “painting.”

And so, on another quiet afternoon in the dimly lit room,

the once-shy and flustered junior boldly hooked his finger around hers and gave it a gentle stroke. He tilted his head closer, pretending to be obedient:

“What kind of me are you painting today, Senior?”

“W-what?”

“A shirt? How many buttons should I undo?”

They met again after a long time, sitting across a dining table.

Her friend asked over the phone if her blind date had gone well. Song Wan looked at the person staring intently at her across the table, unsure how to answer.

Just then, he smiled and offered her a bouquet of roses.

He said, “Sis, long time no see.”

Familiarity mingled with ambiguity.

Just like back in that room where the light was screened out,

when he kissed her carefully and said he wanted to be her one and only nude model.

And just like that summer, when he held her face, his eyes brimming with little smiles, and said he wanted to be a puppy who liked only her, her one and only puppy.

One day, when Yu You was bored and playing a nearby-people app, she matched with someone just five kilometers away whose username was “Hug a Cat.” She didn't think much of it. Just as she raised her hand to keep swiping, a greeting from that person appeared.

[Hug a Cat]: “Hi, want to hug a cat?”

A cat lover through and through, she paused. She studied the person's profile picture again, then hesitantly replied, “Can I see your cat first? I'll decide whether I want to hug it after that.”

The next second, the person sent her a picture of a fluffy little orange kitten. She promptly sent a friend request.

The two of them chatted on their phones about everyday cat stuff, until she grew so eager to cuddle a cat that, on impulse, she asked the other person, “Would I be lucky enough to hug your adorable cat?”

The other person only replied “Okay” a day later.

After they successfully met, she looked at this man who loved cats, spoke gently, was handsome, and behaved like a gentleman, and fireworks went off in her heart.

The day Yu You discovered that Li Zhi didn't like cats, she also happened to realize that he didn't like her.

So, with red eyes, she moved out, taking the cat she had been raising at his place with her.

Before leaving, she defiantly shoved a note through the crack under his door: “I never want to hug your cat again, because your cat isn't as cute as other people's cats.”

Later that winter, a cat cafe named “Youzhi” opened downstairs in Yu You's new apartment complex.

As she passed the shop, the owner was holding a big orange cat, with lots of kittens gathered around his feet, acting sweet.

His tender gaze fell on her. He held out the orange cat in his arms and asked, “Yu You, my cat is very cute, so... want to hug a cat?”

For Li Zhi, it was true that he didn't like cats. It was also true that he later came to like cats because of her, that he wanted to raise a cat with her, and that he liked her, the girl who liked cats.
