The Great General's Little Childhood Friend

One day, month and year, the headline in a Beijing tabloid:

At dawn, the Great General stood fully dressed at the entrance to his residence with his officers, soldiers, and servants.

The Great General was cold-hearted and had killed countless people. Anyone who could make this fearsome man wait first thing in the morning was either an ancestor, or someone about to be sent to meet one.

Alas! The curious onlookers all said they couldn't bear to watch.

·

They waited until well past noon, when a carriage finally arrived. The Great General's furious gaze looked hot enough to send the whole carriage flying into the sky.

But then...

A little boy, white as milk, hopped down from the carriage, rushed over, wrapped his arms around the Great General's neck, and planted several smacking kisses on him, calling out over and over: “Hubby!”

The onlookers all bent down to pick up their eyeballs...

-

Everyone at the Imperial Academy knew that Tang Huaizhi's backing wasn't especially powerful, but it was unshakable.

It was unshakable because of the Great General, who valued him more than his own life.

Tang Huaizhi was hardheaded too. After all, his given name was Tiezhu, and people called him “the third little tyrant of Class A, Junior Division, at the Imperial Academy.”

Well... it wasn't a very impressive title, but it was certainly a long one.

·

Tang Huaizhi: General.

Luo Qinglan: What are you up to now?

Tang Huaizhi: Would you like to visit the Imperial Academy? Our teacher invited you...

·

Tang Huaizhi was raised by Luo Qinglan.

The border was engulfed in war, and a little boy had to care for an even littler one.

·

When he was hungry, he'd cry and fuss, tugging open Luo Qinglan's clothes and suckling until his chest was red.

When he was sleepy, he'd nap in his swaddling, held in Luo Qinglan's arms.

Luo Qinglan always carried candy with him. It had become a habit over the years.

·

Uncle Ayuan said that the two of them had long since become one, and could never be separated.

·

The child born on the battlefield never suffered, because someone was always there to shield him.

He was spoiled and willful, delicate and fussy, clingy and tearful.

But one day, he would ride out onto the vast grasslands, a bow and arrows on his back, side by side with Luo Qinglan.

·

-

Tang Huaizhi: After we get married tomorrow, can I call you hubby?

Luo Qinglan: You started calling me that when you were four.

On their wedding night, he reverently kissed the scars on Luo Qinglan's body, marks left by the borderland's wind and snow and the passage of time.

A fussy, annoying, coquettish, adored-by-everyone bottom VS a ruthless, all-capable Great General who is actually a motherly caretaker top.

A nurturing romance, a rough top and a seductive bottom, an older partner who dotes on him, doting on him beyond belief, the sort of love that spoils him rotten.

·

About their ages:

They're childhood friends. The top was eight the year the bottom was born, and they were always together.

The bottom went to Liaodong at six and returned at eight, at the beginning of this story. You could say it's a reunion.

At thirteen, he enters the Imperial Academy, where there's a stretch of chaotic school-day antics.

Of course, the romance doesn't start until they're grown up~
