A tsundere, sharp-tongued human vs. a seemingly aloof but genuinely cunning ghost king
Si Tong was born with yin-yang eyes. After transmigrating into a supernatural novel with no romance, she was assigned by her boss to be a disposable extra working for the great villain, Qin Du. Her fate was to be killed alongside Qin Du by the heroine.
The great villain was peerlessly beautiful, with an immortal, otherworldly air. A famously aloof goddess in the archaeology world, she had countless people hoping to join her team.
But for some reason, she chose only Si Tong, personally naming her as the sole person she would hire.
With no way out, Si Tong steeled herself and became Qin Du's assistant. She was cautious at every turn, always ready to run the moment the original heroine appeared.
Until one night:
Si Tong accidentally wandered into a forbidden land of demons and nearly lost her life on the spot.
At the brink of death, a pair of warm, strong hands pulled her free of the demonic miasma.
As the demonic fog dissipated, the familiar scent of sandalwood filled her nostrils.
Si Tong stared in disbelief. Why was it Qin Du again?!
Her heart suddenly began to burn. Si Tong saw a red thread connecting her to Qin Du, reaching deep into their souls. Shocked, she asked, "What does this mean?!"
Blood colored Qin Du's pale lips. Without warning, she leaned close to Si Tong's ear and murmured, "A red thread binds us, and our love runs deep. It means we are to become cultivation partners and stay together for all eternity."
Si Tong's heart trembled. Wait, that's not right! This isn't how the plot was supposed to go, is it???
-
Later, Si Tong would come home at night and have every right to let her cultivation partner warm her bed. But by day, she put on the face of a diligent, conscientious assistant who knew her place. More than once, she played dumb in response to Qin Du's obvious advances, making it clear she wanted to keep her distance.
After the nth time she tried flirting with a brick wall, Qin Du finally snapped. She cornered Si Tong behind a door, gripped her chin, and forced her to look her in the eye.
The cold, otherworldly ghost king's eyes were red as she asked, "Do you even have a heart?"
Only after the truth came to light did Si Tong understand that the "plot" she had thought unchangeable was nothing but Qin Du's carefully laid plan, step by step.
-
One day, long afterward, a new archaeology intern searched everywhere for Professor Si, unable to find her.
They had no idea that in the cramped changing room nearby, Qin Du had Si Tong pinned against the door, whispering, "Shh. Teacher Si wouldn't want her students to hear us, would she?"
Only Si Tong knew that the ghost king, with her snow-pale skin and icy, unparalleled beauty, could also be so scorching hot she could melt a person.

The Princess's Blade in Her Palm
An undefeated female warlord vs. a princess who commands the grand strategy
Huan Xu, Commandery Princess of Changning, took up her spear and rode into battle at thirteen, leading a legendary all-female army across the Northern Frontier.
In the eyes of the people of Yunzhou, she was their guardian god of war.
In the eyes of the court, she was an arrogant, overbearing menace who defied the sovereign and flouted the laws of nature, a murderous calamity.
Huan Xu cared nothing for what the world thought. No one could catch the eye of the undefeated god of war. If she had to name someone, it would be Xuan Jingyu, who had grown up with her.
In young Huan Xu's eyes, Xuan Jingyu was peerless in talent, proud and self-possessed, the brightest, noblest, most singular presence in all of Dayu.
But when Huan Xu returned to the capital to report on her duties by imperial command, she received an imperial edict arranging for the eldest imperial princess, Xuan Jingyu, to marry Huan Xu's second elder brother, who was already gravely ill.
What infuriated her most was that this decree was Xuan Jingyu's own wish.
2.
The most favored legitimate eldest princess of Dayu had two secrets:
First, she wanted to avenge her mother.
Second, she wanted to become emperor.
To achieve her goals, she had worked herself to the bone and plotted for years, even arranging for the emperor to approve her marriage to the dying Prince of Jingbei.
Using the delivery of the imperial edict as her excuse, the princess traveled north on the emperor's behalf to inspect the frontier, accompanied by Huan Xu, the Prince of Jingbei's younger sister.
But she never expected that the Prince of Jingbei she would meet upon reaching Yunzhou would be the very person who had traveled beside her all along:
Huan Xu trapped her in a room and pressed her against the wall, fury surging in her eyes. She said through gritted teeth, "I told you that you would regret this!"
But after her initial shock, Xuan Jingyu quickly regained her composure. She raised a hand, took Huan Xu by the chin, and murmured, "Then all the more reason I won't regret it."
3.
The ministers all called Huan Xu a mad, murderous fiend. Huan Xu, however, thought Xuan Jingyu was the real madwoman.
The princess she had once considered the proudest and most upright person in the world had somehow become a scheming, lying fraud.
Xuan Jingyu never hid her ambition, schemes, or willingness to use Huan Xu. Huan Xu was always on guard, yet still found herself falling into the princess's traps.
They embraced and kissed, yet neither could see the other's true heart.
Huan Xu liked to embrace Xuan Jingyu from behind. That way, she didn't have to let Xuan Jingyu see the affection surging in her eyes.
She asked, "Your Highness, have I done well?"
4.
Standing atop a beacon tower and gazing out over the sands and winds of the northern desert, Huan Xu heard Xuan Jingyu's ambition and wish clearly above the howling wind.
"A unified realm, a prosperous age that will endure. I want to build a golden age where women, too, can stand at court, become nobles, and serve as chancellors."
