Even worse, not only was she being chased by ghosts, she was also being pestered by a demon.

She had casually drawn a beginner's fortune slip. A golden light emerged from it, and she assumed it must be some kind of treasure, like a resurrection card. Instead, a beautiful woman appeared out of thin air right in front of her!

The woman stared at her. A moment later, she swept out her sleeve, and a flash of white light shot toward Qi Yan before turning into a silver ring fastened around the ring finger of her left hand.

"I hear that you modern humans make marriage vows by fastening a pact around this finger. Now that our spirit pact is complete, you belong to me, wife."

Qi Yan: ???

From the start, Qi Yan drew the golden card [Nine-Tailed Fox King]. She thought she had at least gotten a golden finger, only to discover that the Demon King had suffered spiritual damage and could recover less than twenty percent of her power even with Qi Yan by her side.

And Qi Yan, an utterly ordinary college student, had become the Demon King's personal "power bank" because of that inexplicable spirit pact and their ridiculous marriage.

The golden finger she'd imagined turned into a living ancestor she had to wait on hand and foot...

Qi Yan: "I really can't even!"

So, in order to stay alive, she did her best to be a good "power bank" and devoted herself to taking care of her "wife," all so she could survive the instance under her protection and successfully "get a divorce"!

Qi Yan at first: "I have to get a divorce!"

After narrowly escaping death, Si Tong realizes she must have been saved by a powerful ghost. She's about to offer her thanks, but the moment she sees the ghost's face, her gratitude turns to shock: How could it be Professor Qin?!

Her chest begins to burn. Si Tong looks down in confusion and sees a faint red thread connecting her to Qin Du.

Qin Du is a specially appointed professor on the archaeological team, an aloof beauty beyond compare.

Only Si Tong, who knows the plot, realizes that she is a ghost, and a ghost king of unfathomable power at that!

She's also the final antagonist boss, who is eventually slain by the heroine in the original story!

Si Tong tries to keep her distance, but no matter what she does, she can't avoid Qin Du. She's even assigned by the team leader to work as Qin Du's assistant!

Qin Du: "You seem to dislike me, Student Si."

Si Tong: "Not at all. Professor Qin, you're so knowledgeable. I admire you, and I've always wanted to learn more from you... It's just that I'm rather slow, and I'm afraid I'll be a bother..."

Qin Du smiles faintly. "You won't be a bother. I'll be glad to help."

Si Tong is close to tears. "..."

Si Tong is forced to work as Qin Du's assistant, serving tea, pouring water, massaging her shoulders and rubbing her legs on the side...

Until one night, the red thread between them sinks into their flesh...

Qin Du's pale lips flush with color, and beneath the moonlight she is devastatingly beautiful.

One day, the history students at Fengcheng University can't find their new young professor anywhere.
