I'm also writing The Straight-Laced Guy Gets a Child-Raising System [Quick Transmigration]. Please add it to your reading list. The blurb is below.
[This story had been on hold for quite a while, but I've decided to make major revisions.]
Li Zhaozhao is a background character in The Chronicles of the War God, with only one line in the entire book.
After the male lead's parents die, he resolutely goes off to war. At the last moment, he looks back at his home and happens to see a figure leaning against the attic window, watching him leave.
That figure, gazed at so intently by the male lead, is Li Zhaozhao.
After that, she never appears in the story again.
This scene once sparked heated discussion on the forums.
Some said the author had forgotten about this plot point. Others said it only symbolized the male lead leaving his past behind and entering a new stage of growth, with no hidden plotline at all!
But no matter what,
everyone familiar with the story agreed that she was nothing more than an insignificant background character.
But...
Why does the background character have the token of love?!
Why did a portrait of the background character fall out of the male lead's arms?!
Why is the male lead collecting model parts the background character threw away?!
Could this background character have transmigrated too!!! Otherwise, why does she have all kinds of models and other modern items!!
Anyone who tries to alter the original story must be eliminated!
Transmigrator No. 1: If the male lead falls in love with someone else early on and doesn't become a War God, how am I supposed to latch onto him and marry a nobleman?
Transmigrator No. 2: If the male lead doesn't become a War God, how am I supposed to expand my business empire overseas?
Transmigrator No. 3, gone mad: The male lead and female lead should be together forever! Every obstacle in their way should be eliminated!
The male lead's expressionless face suddenly appears: Who are you going to eliminate?
Transmigrator No. 3: ...N-no one. The weather's really nice today, ha... hahaha.
[Blurb for the new story]
On the day Xi Dangba was born, his father, who never drank, was so nervous that he took out a bottle of Maotai that had been untouched in the cupboard for decades.
In a drunken haze, he shouted, "My son will grow up to be a big shot!"
Then he gave him the name Xi Dangba.
Thanks to his name, one day, after receiving a text saying he'd been fired before his probation ended,
he was delighted to become a dad!
World One: An orc villain cub grows up to become a scientist
The cub was abused from a young age and will do anything for food. What should I do?
Xi Dangba: It's fine. I'll guide him little by little! [clenches fist]
Aunt Susan: Liss, come do all this work, and you can have all this food!
Liss weighs it up for a moment: No. You give me less than my boss does.
Passerby on the street, trying to lure a puppy: Come on, Liss, I've got food!
Liss doesn't even look over: Hmph.
At last, Xi Dangba raises the cub into a healthy, happy child who stays off the path of villainy. But then the shadow falls once more.
A deranged researcher wants to experiment on the cub's half-orc body?
Beat him to death with a thick math textbook!
To keep the cub from wandering into a tiger's den, Xi Dangba waves a banner and shouts: Learn math, physics, and chemistry, and you can go anywhere without fear!
Who could have guessed he'd accidentally raise the cub into a scientist who breaks through the world's developmental bottleneck?
Later,
Xi Dangba watches the underlings trailing after Liss
and falls silent.
You two are the male and female leads! Why are you listening to the villain so much?
World Two: The three-and-a-half-year-old zombie cub
This zombie cub is wild, unruly, and hard to control?
Xi Dangba takes a deep breath in and out~
He takes out the ancestral talismans and spells, ready to form a blood pact, then his eyes widen the next second.
That ghost is filthy! Don't just pounce on everything and eat it!!!!
The evil sorcerer who betrayed his sect hides behind a tree, watching the zombie cub with greedy tears in his eyes.
Xi Dangba: Whack! He smacks the sorcerer on the head with a peachwood sword. How about a visit to the Special Administration Bureau?
Infinite Campus World:
The school bully cub will become an infinite-world boss? Xi Dangba: It's fine. I'll have him take the civil service exam!
Western Fantasy World: The cub will become the evil dragon in a hero's tale? Xi Dangba: It's fine. I'll make him the guardian beast of the elves!
Cat World: The cub is a cat with mind-reading powers? Xi Dangba: Isn't that great? Just teach him to act cute, and he'll have two-legged slaves waiting on him!
After Xi Dangba completes each instance and collects all the memory fragments, he gets to see the cubs' original fates.
In the orc world, a disabled orc who became a villain in order to transform into human form.
In the infinite-campus world, a school bully made into a boss by the Main God.
In the Western fantasy world, an evil dragon repeatedly slaughtered and used as a stepping stone by heroes.
In the cat world, a tabby cat that was abused, fled into the wilderness, and became a zombie leader after the apocalypse began.
After clearing every instance and changing the cubs' fates,
Xi Dangba finally returns to the modern world.
Think he's going to reach the pinnacle of success?
No, he's going to keep raising cubs.
The familiar orc cub, zombie cub, and the rest all stare at him.
Xi Dangba, with a numb expression: This child-raising System is cursed.
[This story is mostly lighthearted and healing, probably.]
Theme: Love is mutual redemption
I guess it was because the male protagonist couldn't control his joy, so he took another path.
