Relying on My Fanboy to Reach the Top as an Idol

Zhi Ling has been in the idol business for a year.

His company was so poor and he got so little exposure that Zhi Ling thought he would be stuck as a low-tier idol for the rest of his life.

Then, after a commercial performance, Zhi Ling discovered that he had a new fan site.

He was overjoyed and secretly followed it with an alternate account.

Before long, Zhi Ling realized that his fan site was actually run by a male fan.

The fan site owner was generous, sending a whole pile of gifts to the company every time he organized fan support.

Zhi Ling was very grateful and said he would work hard to become more popular to repay his fans.

But his fan site became famous before he did.

After mistaking someone for someone else on a variety show, Zhi Ling was chased and berated by fans of a top idol. He took it in stride and planned to lie flat and let them insult him.

But his fan site owner charged straight to the front lines of the flame war.

He threatened those fans: "Your idol's endorsement deal is gone."

The other fans said, "Who would believe that kind of thing?!"

The next day, the brand withdrew the idol's endorsement deal.

At first, Zhi Ling thought it was just a coincidence. But later, another idol who had bullied him also lost an endorsement deal; an idol who had used him as a target to put down in a publicity campaign had a scandal and faded into obscurity...

As things like this kept happening, people started calling Zhi Ling a lucky charm.

Quite a few marketing accounts began jumping on the bandwagon: Repost this Zhi Ling, and anyone who made you miserable will get their comeuppance tomorrow!

Because of all this, Zhi Ling became more well-known and attracted a huge number of new fans.

He actually became famous!

Zhi Ling knew that idols shouldn't privately contact fans, but he still secretly messaged the owner of his fan site: Thank you so much. Um, would you like an autographed album?

The fan site owner replied: Can you sign it in person?

After becoming famous, Zhi Ling and his bandmates got busy.

One day, his manager took him to discuss a new endorsement deal.

When they arrived, Zhi Ling learned that the young master of the conglomerate had come to meet them in person.

After successfully securing the endorsement, the young master stopped Zhi Ling and said he wanted to talk with him alone.

Once the two of them had walked to a quiet, deserted corner, the young master suddenly took out an album.

The young master said, "We agreed last time that you'd sign it in person."

Zhi Ling: "...Huh?"

TIPS:

1. A pretty, slightly dense, pitiful idol on the receiving end, and a shameless (in a good way) top who will spoil him endlessly.

2. An alternate-universe setting. The entertainment industry here is definitely not the same as the real one!
