A clingy succubus who depends on her older sister 1 x A human older sister who indulges her younger sister's dependence 0
Cong Yue x Cong Xia (six-year age gap, no blood relation)
Blurb:
Cong Yue was a child Cong Xia took in. She named her "Yue," hoping she would overcome every hardship life had in store for her.
They grew up in a single-parent family, with their mother raising two daughters on her own. Cong Xia asked Cong Yue to call her "Older Sister," helped bathe her when she was just four or five, explained how to use sanitary pads when Cong Yue got her first period, was the first to hug her when she walked out of her college entrance exams, and called every day during her first week at university to ask how she was settling in...
Cong Yue depends on Cong Xia. It's instinctive, and something Cong Xia herself encouraged every step of the way.
But the closeness between them began to crack when Cong Yue turned eighteen.
Cong Yue received a call from her birth mother. She said she had no choice, that Cong Yue was a succubus and had to grow up among humans, because after reaching adulthood she would no longer be able to fill her stomach with ordinary food.
A succubus feeds on human bodily fluids: tears, saliva, sweat, and even more intimate things.
Cong Yue thought it was a phone scam. She thought she was normal, but the increasingly hollow feeling in her stomach after she came of age told her it was true.
In one year, Cong Yue lost twenty pounds. Every day she was so hungry she felt dizzy, and her stomach cramped. Many times, Cong Xia cupped her face and anxiously asked what was wrong. Looking into those tear-filled eyes, Cong Yue wanted nothing more than to swallow Cong Xia's tears.
But she couldn't. She couldn't feel that way about her older sister. She absolutely couldn't... treat her sister as food.
Maybe she could find some other food. Cong Xia's friend, always so quiet and gentle, seemed like a good choice. Cong Yue thought she could stop depending on her sister so much, and Cong Xia could have an easier time.
But Cong Xia didn't see it that way. Cong Yue had always been a handful, from childhood on. Only when she stopped being a handful did Cong Xia suddenly realize something was wrong.
As for the question, "Does no longer depending on your older sister mean you've grown up?" Cong Xia had no answer. Just imagining a future where Cong Yue no longer depended on her made her want there to be no future at all. She would go mad.
Bonus Scene One:
Cong Xia knew Cong Yue had been spending more time with her friend lately. The two of them shared a cup of coffee and went out together three days in a row. She forced herself not to interfere, because she didn't want to seem like an overly controlling older sister.
But then she saw a straw in Cong Yue's dorm room, carefully put away, with both their lip prints on it. In that moment, she came close to falling apart.
Bonus Scene Two:
After finally having a full meal, the two fell asleep in each other's arms. Cong Xia's lips were flushed as she asked Cong Yue if she knew the difference between "need" and "want."
Cong Yue thought for a while, then said, "I need what you give me to survive, Older Sister. But I kiss you even when I'm not hungry. That's what I want."
Cong Xia finally smiled. She took Cong Yue's hand and placed it over her heart, saying each word slowly: "Cong Yue, I need you."
The kind of need where you can't go on living without someone.
Guide:
1. The two protagonists are not related by blood and are not registered in the same household.
2. The plot serves the romance. This is a pure romance story.
3. The succubus lore is all my own invention.
Content warnings:
1. The protagonist who pursues the other will share a cup of coffee with the love interest's friend early on, but only to stay alive. There is no physical or emotional romantic tension, only a very faint one-sided crush. The female supporting character is a good person, and there is no rivalry between women. Please leave immediately if this isn't for you.
2. There are vulgar scenes involving sniffing underwear and tasting sweat, but fictional characters' sweat smells good. Don't read if that's not your thing. (I'll call myself a pervert first, so you can't do it.)
