Cai Anxin

A troublesome System and a worried Host!

This System gave its Host the ability to use it, but never said a word. The Host tried every way she could think of to find capable people who might be able to crack the System. Whether the System did it on purpose or simply hadn't thought that far ahead, before long everyone in the small town where its Host lived knew it existed. Gradually... Cai Anxin's reputation continued to spread.

But is a big reputation really a good thing?

As her reputation grew, so did the wealth she accumulated, and so did the number of petty people eyeing her during her most prosperous period.

Fortunately, she was very lucky. Every petty person she encountered was an idiot. For example, she'd been working on cracking the System for a long time when someone showed up claiming they could crack it and asking for a chance to try.

Cai Anxin: ...Her speechless moments became almost as frequent as her growing fame.

Only when the System's true ambition was revealed did Cai Anxin's life finally experience a brief, peaceful interlude.

Cai Anxin doesn't have any grand ambitions in life. She only wants a little treasury of her own, the kind that never runs out, no matter how much she spends.

Whether she achieves that goal by the end of her life is something she'll only find out in the end.

A fun little excerpt from the story:

[The following is a scene where Cai Anxin and the System argue endlessly about something.]

System: There will come a day when I leave.

Cai Anxin: I know. When that day comes, I'll be able to act as if you'd never been here.

System: Then why can't you act as if I was never here now?

Cai Anxin: Since you showed up, how am I supposed to prove you were never here? Just give me a straight answer. Are you helping or not?

System: I don't like the state your second older brother is in. If it were one of your other older brothers, I wouldn't mind helping.

Cai Anxin: Fine, you said it. Don't regret it!
