Until one day, the bandit chief slings a rifle over his shoulder and says to Fang Tongye before heading down the mountain, “We’ll meet again.”

Fang Tongye becomes a young star, but he’s a sickly beauty. One day, a big shot takes a liking to him, and he becomes the man’s contract lover.

Being sick hurts. Whenever Fang Tongye cries, the big shot cries even harder.

The big shot tells him, “So you can’t let anything happen to you.”

In the original story, the male lead is Fang Tongye’s younger brother, though they have different parents. He falls in love with Fang Tongye and is consumed by anguish.

Fang Tongye’s mother has a sworn brother whom they usually call Uncle Cheng.

In this painful love triangle, Fang Tongye is “tormented,” but notices someone looking at him with restrained longing.

Later, Uncle Cheng takes his hand. “Xiaoxiao, come with me.”
