The Wise Consort of Emperor Kangxi

[Upcoming: Kangxi's Cherished Secret Consort (Qing Dynasty Transmigration)]

Blurb:

Zhao Baoyin falls into an endless sleep and transmigrates to the Great Qing, where she is bound to a palace intrigue System and becomes the Borjigit lady who was pushed into a pond: the historically short-lived Consort Hui.

With pills from the System, she pretends to be sickly and turns misfortune into good luck by being promoted to consort early.

She ranks below only the empress in the entire harem, and has Aunt Xiaozhuang as her backer. The only reason she doesn't throw her weight around, bully the consorts, and kick the princes is that she's such a good-natured person.

Unfortunately, her reputation for frail health is too widespread.

Whether she's hearing gossip about the Tong family in the imperial garden or watching the Guoluo sisters argue in the Palace of Earthly Tranquility, the moment she coughs or frowns, she's hurried back to Yongshou Palace to recuperate.

After Empress Hesheri dies, Zhao Baoyin, now a noble consort, browses the System's logs and speculates about who will be the next empress. Then a little baby appears in her arms.

"The Crown Prince is young. He can't be left alone."

Huh? Wasn't he the one who feared she might give birth to a child with Mongolian blood and secretly had her drugged? Why does he look so guilty now?

Upcoming: Kangxi's Cherished Secret Consort

Wang Jingyi was born into an official family as its legitimate daughter and was cherished from childhood, growing up spoiled. Aside from clothes, food, and makeup, her only concern was finding the perfect husband.

Just as she decides that a poor scholar might be worth considering, she somehow ends up intimate with a distinguished visitor from the capital.

When her sister-in-law tells her the man is a widower with countless concubines, Wang Jingyi is so frightened she cries.

Her brother insists on sending her to that man's residence. Furious, Wang Jingyi says, "He's an old widower, and my brother is currying favor with his superiors. But that doesn't mean he can send me to be a replacement wife!"

Kangxi laughs in anger. Just what kind of person has he taken a fancy to? "You think you're worthy of being my replacement wife? You're not good enough."

As if to prove it, after returning to the capital, Kangxi gives her fine clothes and precious jewels but no title. He dotes on her endlessly, yet never gives her a kind word.

Wang Jingyi thinks this life is absolutely wonderful!

Endless beautiful clothes and jewelry, more delicacies than she can eat, someone to chat and gossip with whenever she's bored, and if anyone bullies her, Kangxi deals with them before she can even shed a tear and complain.
