Kangxi's Beloved Secret Consort (Qing Dynasty Transmigration)

[Blurb]

Wang Jingyi was born into an official family as its legitimate daughter, and had been pampered since childhood, growing into a spoiled young woman. Aside from food, clothes, and beauty, her only concern was finding a suitable husband.

Just as she was starting to think a poor degree-holder was acceptable, she somehow ended up in an intimate situation with a distinguished guest from the capital.

Her sister-in-law told her the man was a widower with countless concubines, and she was so frightened she cried.

Her brother insisted on sending her to the man's residence. Wang Jingyi was furious. "He's an old widower, and you want to curry favor with him? You can't just send me off to be his second wife!"

Kangxi laughed in exasperation. What kind of woman had he taken a fancy to? "Be my second wife? You? You're not good enough."

As if to prove it, after returning to the capital, Kangxi gave her fine clothes and precious jewels but no title. He showered her with favor but never gave her a kind look.

Wang Jingyi thought this life was simply wonderful!

Endless beautiful clothes and jewelry, all the delicacies she could eat, people to gossip with whenever she was bored, and if anyone bullied her, Kangxi dealt with them before she could even squeeze out a tear to complain.
