Divine Oracle [Apocalypse]

In the year 3000 of the New Era, the apocalypse is near, and humanity knows nothing of it. Only a handful of surviving descendants have heard the divine oracle:

"The world embraces evil, its sins beyond pardon; Heaven's punishment descends, and only the fittest survive."

The Alliance urgently launches a research initiative, hoping to preserve the final balance before the end of the world.

The Babel Tower Project aims to "create gods." A group of exceptionally capable superpowered individuals, loyal to humanity, is born from it.

Those in the know call these volunteers who offer themselves up "gods."

Shen Liao isn't interested in becoming a god, but they are paying far too much to refuse.

As the first god to be revealed to the world, Shen Liao is also the only exception to the usual arrangement of pairing everyone up. He works alone.

Until one day, the organization assigns him a partner. One question later, it turns out the guy really is just a pretty face.

Shen Liao: Don't come near me.

Later, Shen Liao eats the hot meals his partner cooks, spends the salary his partner hands over, and pinches his partner's pretty, gentle face.

His partner, usually so unattainable, blushes quietly.

Adorable.

Later still, as the world teeters on the brink and the old gods fall apart, Shen Liao finally points to the enemy's head. Just as he is about to topple this absurd tower, along with the curse of all the gods, his partner stabs him in the back.

In ten years of service, he has never bled this much.

At last, Shen Liao understands what his partner's averted gaze has meant all these years.

Guilt. Protest. His partner's long-suppressed, wolfish desire for him.

The god drags his cumbersome body across the endless frozen wasteland.

His blood has frozen; his limbs are on the verge of rotting. His cracked lips still sing without pause:

"Come, let us go down and confuse their language, so they will not understand one another." ①

And so, amid the ruins of the Tower of Babel as it crashes to the ground,

lie the wandering souls of countless gods.
