I'm Just an Ordinary Craftsperson

After graduating with a degree in the sunset industry and facing unemployment, senior-year student Li Zhibai starts an online livestream assembling model kits for clients to earn money for graduate school. Sometimes he does DIY projects, and he boldly posts: [If you pay, I can assemble anything.]

But the viewers aren't buying it. They all say the uploader has decent skills, but his color choices are too hellish, and his models would scare the cat at home. Two coins, no more.

Just when he is at the end of his rope, he receives a private message from a viewer, who says they really admire his aesthetic and wants to commission a custom order.

Li Zhibai: As artisans, how can we bend for a mere pittance? But he says he admires my work!

The client insists on no expensive materials, only traditional bamboo and paper crafts. So, to make a living, Li Zhibai takes up a routine of studying guides during the day and livestreaming his handiwork at night.

He makes high-difficulty projects: high-speed trains, communications towers, and high-voltage power towers.

He also makes easier ones: fiber-optic cables, routers, and full sets of small appliances.

At the client's request, he even makes some rather strange models of mountains of gold and silver, and an imperial mausoleum. Just as he is working toward the year-end top 100 uploader rankings by building a model of the Palace Museum, his front door is suddenly kicked open.

Li Zhibai, now sporting a pair of silver handcuffs, sees his arrest warrant. The charges: prohibited smuggling and driving up prices in the underworld, causing a fiscal crisis?

Wait, isn't something wrong here?

He's just a craft-making student preparing for graduate school exams!
