Don't Fall for Your Archrival

[Main story complete] A fun, sweet little romance! Trust me!!! ٩(•̤̀ᵕ•̤́๑)ᵒᵏᵎᵎᵎᵎ Also known as Limited-Time Heartbeat Doctor bottom × race-car-driver top Sharp-tongued queen × king of cheesy pickup lines 🦊 Yan Ruixing × 🐶 Wen Xiaomian Yan Ruixing is the youngest attending physician in skull base surgery and ear neurology. He has just received an award for outstanding contributions to young medicine, only to turn around and receive a diagnosis of his own: chronic myeloid leukemia. 🙃 Wen Xiaomian, an F1 champion and the young Mr. Wen who “was born knowing how to make money,” walks into Yan Ruixing’s clinic with his scan results in hand. They haven’t seen each other in years. The man in the sharp suit has long since lost his boyish awkwardness. But to Yan Ruixing, Wen Xiaomian is still that irritating face from middle school, that pesky dog who just won’t stay dead. [Eye roll] And to Wen Xiaomian, Yan Ruixing has barely changed at all, apart from trading his school uniform for a white coat. Still cool and exacting, still a scheming fox. [Pinches nose] Yan Ruixing takes the scan results. He’s only gotten a couple of sentences into explaining the condition when Wen Xiaomian interrupts him. “Can’t you just get to the point?” Yan Ruixing: “Sure. Get your last will and testament ready.” Wen Xiaomian acts nonchalant. “Oh, so there’s no hope?” “There is.” Yan Ruixing taps the desk. “Get down on your knees and wish me a happy New Year. Then, if I’m feeling generous, I’ll operate on you.” Wen Xiaomian turns and leaves. Staying another second would be an insult. He visits hospital after hospital, but every specialist takes one look at his “hell-level” scan results, shakes their head, and can only manage, “Young Mr. Wen, I-I wish you well.” At last, all that’s left is Yan Ruixing, who comes to him of his own accord. “Really won’t let me try?” Wen Xiaomian: “Why should I trust you?” Yan Ruixing hands over his own diagnosis. “I just want some peace and quiet. I’m not dragging a dumb dog down with me.” Wen Xiaomian: “…” One week before the surgery. Wen Xiaomian: “If I don’t wake up, will you dance yangge at my grave for three days?” Yan Ruixing: “I’ll hire you a senior citizens’ dance troupe.” “That wouldn’t be half as nice to look at as you.” “…” Get lost. “Wait, I’m not done with my last wishes.” Wen Xiaomian grabs the person who’s about to leave and turns his head to look at him. “This young master is about to die, and I still haven’t had my first kiss. How about a little end-of-life comfort from Doctor Yan?” The day of the surgery. Before the anesthesia takes effect, Wen Xiaomian tugs down Yan Ruixing’s mask, wanting to memorize his face with all his might. “I have one last wish.” For once, Yan Ruixing doesn’t lose his temper. “What?” “If I get the chance to wake up, could I kiss you one more time?” ❤️ Reading Guide ❤️ 1.
