This is not a Voldemort redemption or reform story. The female lead is merely an observer and does not change the plot. Here's the synopsis:
1937, an orphanage
"So you're from the future?" Tom Riddle asked.
"A very, very distant future. But don't worry, I'm just a history enthusiast. I won't interfere with the course of history, and I don't have the ability to." Bertha answered as she took notes in her notebook.
*
October 31, 1981, evening
Bertha still had that notebook in hand. "How are you feeling right now? I have to say, this is an extremely important moment in history."
Voldemort stood at the Potter family's hiding place and gave Bertha a false smile.
*
June, 1992
Voldemort grabbed Bertha by the throat. "You knew all along."
Bertha was completely unfazed. "I knew all along, and you knew that I knew. So, how does it feel to be defeated by an eleven-year-old?"
*
May, 1998
Bertha stood before Voldemort's grave and closed her notebook, her heart heavy.
(Note left on 2022.8.21: This is probably my third Harry Potter fic. No idea when I'll start it.)
