Rumor has it that Zhou Qingyun has always had a first love in his heart, and for all these years he hasn’t given anyone else the time of day.

After weighing the pros and cons, Tan Jingsheng decides to become a stand-in for the woman Zhou Qingyun loves.

From then on, resources, fame, fortune, material comforts, and even the fake affection of a man everyone envies are all hers for the taking.

Until Zhou Qingyun breaks up with her.

At a shareholders’ meeting, in front of the executives and the Zhou family, the man looks at her with cool detachment, as if they barely know each other. She hears him tell his younger brother, “From beginning to end, I saw her as Shen Zhao. I had no interest in her herself.”

After the breakup, rumors about Tan Jingsheng are everywhere, and there are even reports that she’s about to marry a certain entertainer.

Everyone thinks the eldest son of the Zhou family and the young star have cut ties for good and will never see each other again.

At a jewelry exhibition, the brand clears out everyone else, leaving Tan Jingsheng to receive an important client.

As the brand’s ambassador, she treats Zhou Qingyun like a stranger and introduces him to their best-selling pieces.

Zhou Qingyun takes out a butterfly ring and slips it straight onto her ring finger. “Do you like it? It’s for you.”

Tan Jingsheng looks at the significant piece of jewelry on her hand. When they were together, he gave her many beautiful, expensive gifts, but never a ring signifying a promise of marriage.

A moment later, she removes the ring and returns it respectfully. “It’s lovely, but it doesn’t suit me.”

She no longer needs anything he gives her.

P.S.

*The male lead’s first love is the heroine herself. She only pretends to be a stand-in. The little mermaid trope.
