The Young Lady

The day Shu Yixue was brought back to Sparrow Alley, the rain came down hard.

She fell, water streaming down her face.

Jing Yan was just walking up to her then.

He tutored her. Listened to her tantrums. Picked up the pens she threw away.

Step by step, he tailored little study plans just for her, and even rewarded her with little gold stars.

Like someone bottle-feeding a little fox, he raised the young lady until she grew up, became capable, and got better grades. Later, the young lady was to fly back to the place she belonged.

Jing Yan said nothing.

He simply followed, one step at a time.

Until the young lady turned to look at him. The boy before her was like a big wolfdog, handsome, yet steadfast and gentle.

"Shu Yixue, will you be my girlfriend?"
