After falling in battle, Yi Wei's divine body was destroyed. Before her consciousness faded completely, she drifted into the body of a human girl who had just taken her own life.
The human girl's beloved fiance had just broken off their engagement. Unable to accept this, the girl used a delicate eyebrow razor to cut an artery.
Yi Wei couldn't understand these complicated human emotions. All she wanted was revenge.
When she finally found the shrine where her former followers had worshipped her, she discovered that it had long since been razed to the ground.
The shrine was destroyed, her followers scattered, and the repository of knowledge she had left behind was looted.
The whole universe was shouting, “No more war! We want peace, not war! Anyone who starts a war is a criminal and should be brought before the Court of Justice.”
Yi Wei, the God of War: ...
To repair her divine body, Yi Wei had no choice but to convert more followers. She began trying to become human.
At first, Yi Wei posted messages online encouraging war.
“War can drive the progress of civilization.”
“Trials are the epitome of hypocrisy and subjectivity.”
“Humanity needs stronger weapons and better equipment!”
Only after she was arrested for inciting war did Yi Wei change her strategy.
As a god, her very existence was an object of faith.
But as a human, she would have to work to become one.
Later, someone new joined the Fourth Legion, and she was a woman.
On her very first day in the legion, she challenged an entire squad by herself. Bare-handed, valiant and unstoppable.
They went from looking down on her, to fearing her, and finally to respecting her.
Later, when foreign enemies attacked, the other six legions all suffered severe losses. Only the Fourth Legion, led by this woman, defended their territory with the fierce determination of a lion.
At the most-watched coronation ceremony on the Star Network, all the people saw the woman accept the scepter symbolizing power with a look that seemed to survey the world beneath her. Calmly, she said, “This is the meaning of war.”
In that moment, they all remembered her name.
She was called Yi Wei.
My take on Cthulhu (not really), with a few elements from that genre.
A familiar powerful female lead: an overpowered character forced to start over from level one, then steamroll the entire server.
Everything serves the plot and characterization. This story does not glorify war. The female lead will regain her divinity, but she won't be the God of War!
There might be a male lead, though probably not. Even if there is, it might be a girl-guy pairing? I'm not sure yet. We'll see.
The author isn't used to writing outlines. I'll see how things go as I write, but I still want to become a proper romance author (crying cat.jpg).
The worldbuilding is entirely made up and won't stand up to comparisons or scrutiny.
Theme: The individual comes first.
