After a Mermaid Father and Daughter Came Looking for Me

Yan Shuyi woke from a nap and found a little thing beside her bed. She was incredibly beautiful, with a round face, cherry-red lips, clear blue-sky eyes, long naturally wavy hair like seaweed, and... a gorgeous golden fish tail so dreamlike it seemed unreal.

A tiny mermaid?

Yan Shuyi thought she was still dreaming.

When the little thing saw her wake, she happily flicked her tail, beamed, and called out in a sweet, clear voice, "Mama~"

Yan Shuyi: "..."

The dream felt far too real.

She looked up again and saw a man entering through the doorway. He wore a black robe with the collar slightly open, revealing his cool, pale skin and delicate collarbones. And his face... It practically sparkled. He was devastatingly handsome!

Once they appeared, Yan Shuyi remembered everything. It turned out the world she lived in was only a book, and she was the supporting female character who had failed to compete with the heroine for the male lead and had been written off as cannon fodder. She was supposed to live in another world, where she’d had a wild night and conceived a child with her aloof senior, a man she’d barely met and had no feelings for...

The little mermaid had a huge appetite and loved seafood. She needed to be fed sea cucumber and abalone every day, and if she wasn’t full, she’d cry, dropping strings of tiny pearls from her eyes while her tail flapped against the floor.

The adult mermaid, Lin Huachi, was difficult to get along with: cold and sharp-tongued, proud, picky, and looking down on everyone.

And now, they were both Yan Shuyi’s responsibility.

Her expenses exceeded her income, and her savings were running low.

With her purse nearly empty, Yan Shuyi asked cautiously, "...How about you two go back where you came from?"
