I Ascended to Immortality by Memorizing Tang and Song Poetry

Xu Qingyan transmigrates into a book and becomes an unlucky senior sister who only exists in the novel’s dialogue. She loses her spiritual roots while saving the young heroine, and from then on becomes a cripple.

Looking at the hole in the roof, she sighs and comforts herself: "This is a humble abode, yet my virtue makes it fragrant!"

Unexpectedly, she activates the dormant Word Spirit talent hidden within her body.

Xu Qingyan bolts upright from her deathbed, staring at her hands in amazement.

Well, her teacher wasn’t lying. Reading really can change your fate. The power of words can actually replace spiritual energy in cultivation!

And so, the sound of Senior Sister Xu Qingyan reciting poems and verses can be heard all around the sect.

The disciples: What a pity about Senior Sister! She’s gone mad!

The sword spirit that had been nurtured for a century in the bamboo grove is woken by the noise, too.

"Green bamboo by the stream, lotus blossoms fragrant in the mirror-like water."

"Better to eat without meat than to live without bamboo."

"The shade is as green as fresh-washed silk. Why protect bamboo with brambles?"

The sword spirit: I heard you, I heard you!

Later, demons pour out of the Demon Realm, intent on invading the Three Realms.

The sect’s disciples fight back, and countless are killed or wounded.

A woman in green emerges from Green Bamboo Peak, a place few ever visit. She carries a green bamboo branch in her hand and a wine gourd at her waist.

She walks forward at an unhurried pace, facing the Demon Realm’s countless troops alone.

The woman smiles carefree, drinks wine on the battlefield, and charges into battle with her green bamboo.

"Three thousand guests drunk on flowers fill the hall, one sword’s frost chills fourteen provinces!"

The Green Bamboo Sword summons a sky full of floral fragrance. As its intoxicating scent spreads, the woman in green lightly touches the ground with her toes and darts through the countless enemy troops with a single bamboo branch.

When she finally stops, only a fleck of blood remains at the corner of her eye.

The Demon Realm suffers devastating losses, and its demons retreat to the Thousand Demons Palace, unable to make a move for a thousand years.

The Senior Sister once branded a madwoman shocks the world with a single sword. She is hailed as the Bamboo Sword Immortal, Floating White, Carrying the Brush.

Notes:

1. The story will include poetry, prose, and the Analects, with a focus on poetry.

2. The male lead is a sword spirit. There isn’t much romance; the focus is on the heroine’s growth.
