Some upcoming story blurbs are at the bottom of this one. Please, please, please click and take a look, especially the next one, Autumn's Last Mail!
[Highlight: The focus of this story is the romantic push and pull.]
[Blurb]
Lin Jiuyue lives in a side courtyard of the Cheng residence. She possesses strange abilities: she can recognize soulflames and stabilize soulcores. One day, she kindly uses a clever plan to help the second young master, who has been frail since childhood, but ends up being mistaken for a fraud.
A bell suddenly appears beside Cheng Shechuan, leaving his subordinate Li Ke completely baffled. He has never seen a woman around the general, so why does the general suddenly have something belonging to a woman? He leans over to get a closer look.
But Cheng Shechuan's hand has already closed firmly around it, shielding it from prying eyes.
*The heroine can occasionally shrink and hide inside the bell. The hero carries it with him.
[Original blurb]
A young woman lives in a side courtyard of the Cheng residence. Skilled in divination and able to perceive soulflames, she is beautiful and charming. Even though her family has fallen on hard times, she still wins the heart of the eldest young master in the household.
The second young master of the household is young and accomplished. He returns from the northern lands and is named a young general. He watches coldly as the young woman and the eldest young master carry on their romantic affair. Somehow, though, as he watches, he gradually falls deep into it himself. Since she once showed him kindness when they were young, he might as well marry her. But the young woman isn't willing.
[Reading Guide]
**The hero is a mix of Scorpio and Cancer: cold to everyone else, but indecisive and full of complicated thoughts with the heroine, like a Cancer, and possessive like a Scorpio.
*The heroine is a sweet girl when young. As she grows up, she becomes bright and worldly. (Either way, I love her.)
*There is a little groveling-after-the-breakup content, usually when the two argue and the cold-faced general hero keeps backing down until he has nowhere left to retreat.
*This story focuses on romance, with plenty of push and pull. The hero falls for her against his will, while insisting he doesn't.
*The title comes from Song dynasty poet Lu Meipo's Snow Plum, Part Two:
Without snow, the plum lacks its spirit; with snow but no poem, one is a bore. At dusk, the poem is done and snow falls again, and plum and snow together make the spring complete.
*Some allusions: Nine Parts Moon, Ten Parts Spring, and A Favorable Crossing of the Great River.
*The hero's name comes from the Book of Changes: "In the images of the Book of Changes, when one faces danger and hardship, the words 'crossing the river' are used."
*The heroine's name comes from Song dynasty poet Peng Yu's Poem on the Pavilion of Ten Thousand Ravines and Windblown Mists: "Beyond the nine-tiered terrace, the music of spring travels on; atop the evergreen bough, light shimmers through the shade."
*This story contains many fictional elements and takes place in an imaginary dynasty, with some inspiration from the Wei, Jin, and Northern and Southern dynasties. The leads are not based on real people, and ideas like soulflames and soulcores are made up. No need to research them.
[NEXT STORY] Autumn's Last Mail
In a cafe, the man seated across from Lin Wanting has an imposing presence that makes him hard to look at directly.
He leans back in his chair. On the table lies a check bearing a sum that most people could hardly refuse.
Lin Wanting looks straight at him, as if waiting for an explanation.
Mr. Zhou Youchen, head of the Zhou family and her boyfriend's maternal uncle, furrows his brow slightly and says coolly, "Leave Le Xun. You two aren't right for each other."
Lin Wanting is surprised, as if she can't believe such an old-fashioned, clichéd scene is happening to her. She says nothing and turns to leave. On her way out... she remembers to take the check from the table.
[The hero is Zhou Youchen! This is a melodramatic story about an uncle trying to break up a couple, only to be attracted to the heroine himself!]
The story is set in modern times, possibly with a Hong Kong vibe. Not sure! My Cantonese isn't great, so I'm still considering the exact setting. Since Ten Parts Spring just finished, I'll build up a stock of chapters before starting this one.
[UPCOMING STORY 1] Married, Dazed and Desiring
Three years into their marriage, they are the model couple in everyone's eyes.
Only Lin Yixi knows how cold and distant they really are.
Lin Yixi x He Qiaobei
Free-spirited heroine x deeply devoted, proud hero
The heroine thinks it's a marriage of convenience that turns into love; the hero thinks it was all part of his long game.
[UPCOMING STORY 2] Pythagorean Reincarnation
Also known as: Let's Make Money, Zhou Shan!
After graduating with a degree in sociology, a notoriously impractical major,
Zhou Shan faces two major choices in life:
1. Go back to her hometown or stay in the big city?
2. Stick with her major or switch fields to make money?
Well, obviously she's going to make money!
So Zhou Shan struggles her way into the supposedly lucrative finance industry, joining the army of would-be permanent hires, commonly known as unpaid intern drudges.
A crowd of champions of exam-based education, plus a famously difficult boss (the hero),
make Zhou Shan's journey toward making money hard, very hard, unbelievably hard.
But for money, she has to endure, endure some more, and then endure even more!
Zhou Shan x Lin Hengcheng
* A rookie's career progression / set in the research division of a domestic securities firm / they are no longer in a boss-subordinate relationship when they make things official
* Age gap: the hero is five years older than the heroine. No ex-girlfriend.
* They break up and get back together. It's the heroine's secret crush coming true and the hero's love finding its way back.
*"But I know there is a dark Pythagorean reincarnation
That keeps me in some place on earth, night after night.", Borges
[UPCOMING STORY 3] Back to 2008
A female trader transmigrates to 2008 and makes her fortune in the stock market through genuine skill and a little help from her golden finger, while also finding love.
Also known as A Journey Through Mountains and Rivers. Mainly a way to commemorate this year's losses and look back at the development of China's stock market. All stock names in the story are fictional. This is just a story, so don't take it as financial advice.
[UPCOMING STORY 4] In Name Only
A short, realistic story about married life.
One chapter from the woman's perspective.
One chapter from the man's perspective.
The hero seems gentle, but is actually a sanctimonious hypocrite.
The heroine seems strong, but gradually gives in to society's expectations.
Neither of them is exactly a good person, and the story won't be particularly pleasant.
The writing should be cold and cutting, peeling back the warmth to expose the chilling, horrifying emotions beneath the daily grind.
Theme: A noble gentleman, a favorable crossing of the great river.
Next book, "Autumn Evening Post" In the cafe, the man sitting in front of Lin Wanting was so imposing that people dared not look directly at him. He was half leaning on the back of his chair, and there was a check on the table. On the check was a string of numbers that ordinary people could not refuse. Lin Wanting looked straight over, as if waiting for the other party to explain. Mr. Zhou Youchen, the head of the Zhou family and her boyfriend's uncle, frowned slightly and said calmly, "It's not suitable for you to leave Le Xun." Lin Wanting was slightly surprised, as if she didn't understand that such an ancient and clichéd plot could happen to her. She didn't respond and turned around to leave. When she left... She didn't forget to take the check on the table. [The male protagonist is Zhou Youchen! This is a bloody story about an uncle who wanted to beat the couple apart, but ended up being attracted to the heroine! The background should be modern and contemporary, possibly Hong Kong style. Uncertain! The author is not fluent in Cantonese, and is still deciding on the specific background. Since it has just been completed in the very spring period, I will save the manuscript first and then start writing it later.
Beautiful, more to come, I love this style of writing
I said that this style of writing seems to have been seen somewhere, and it was only when I saw this that I realized that it was a Dream of Red Mansions.
I wanted to give the author a five-star rating, but Jin Jiang said the rating was too concentrated and refused to give it a rating, but this novel is a five-star review!!!
I have read another book. The author really writes well. The characters are well created and the setting is very interesting.
Are all the male protagonists in the author's works a bit perverted? Hahahaha
Hahaha, the author is so rigorous~
It looks good, I love reading it, and I write more.
Is there Chapter 7 today?
I haven't seen enough of their stories.
