I'm a Mermaid, but I Can't Sing in Tune

Lin Niao transmigrates into the body of a koi-colored mermaid.

In this world, humans use mental power as a weapon, but suffer greatly from mental power rampages.

Mermaids' songs, meanwhile, can treat these rampages.

When Lin Niao arrives, it's his turn to take the stage and demonstrate “how to soothe a mental power rampage with song.”

Lin Niao walks onstage with poise and passionately performs “The Man Who Lassos Horses”:

“Ah~~~ the man who lassos↗ horses↓ you↗...”

The notes linger in the air, echoing without end.

The vocal music teacher at the Mermaid Academy resigns in the middle of the night.

Everyone knows Marshal Lainos has never been able to hear mermaid songs. Whenever his mental power runs wild, he can only endure it.

But while visiting the Mermaid Academy, Lainos hears a mermaid's song for the first time.

The marshal watches the koi-colored mermaid sing and wipes away a tear:

“So this is what a mermaid's song sounds like...”

If it's going to sound this awful, I'd rather not be able to hear it...

[Reading Guide]

1. A light, silly story with weak writing and a completely made-up world. If you ask why, it's for the plot.

2. The fish isn't singing off-key on purpose. The top's deafness only applies to mermaid songs; his everyday hearing is perfectly fine.
