White Sneakers [Crime Investigation]

Jiang Yubai has a special ability: she can judge how good-hearted someone is by looking at their shoes.

No matter what shoes you wear in real life, they always look like a pair of white sneakers to her.

Everyone's white sneakers look exactly the same. The only difference is their color. The whiter they are, the kinder their owner is. At the other end of the spectrum, they turn blood red, stained with the blood of those their owner has killed.

Su Tingzhi has the cleanest shoes Jiang Yubai has ever seen, so she has always firmly believed that he is the kindest person she knows.

Until one day, a murder takes place in the neighborhood where Jiang Yubai lives. She discovers that Su Tingzhi's shoes have turned blood red...

P.S. 1. This story came from a wild idea and is set in an alternate modern world. Please don't overanalyze the details.

2. The full story is already written, and I won't abandon it. Feel free to start reading.

3. A tragic ending in which both leads die.

I'm also seeking advance interest for The Book of Revelation, a crime investigation novel featuring Yan Jintang and Wei Min.

My next story: You Are the One I Can't Forget

Everyone has a forest of their own. Perhaps we've never been there, but it is always there, and always will be. Those who are lost remain lost, and those who meet will meet again.

Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood

At last, we meet again at the summit.

Another crime investigation novel: The Witness

My name is Lin Xuqiu. I'm mute.

That day, I witnessed a murder.

I saw the killer carry out the entire crime.

I hid in a narrow gap.

My eyes met the bloodstained eyes of the killer.

But he didn't kill me.

Instead, he made all the evidence point to me...

Theme: The pursuit of justice never stops.
