How Did I, with Face Blindness, Become a Famous Detective?

[Complete!] Here's a preview of my next Bungo Stray Dogs BL fic, opening in mid-August: "The Years I Spent as Brothers with the Hat-Wearing Guy." Pairing: Chuuya. #Was I the only one who thought we were partners?! I noticed the anti-piracy feature, so I'm giving it a try! It's set to 90%, with a three-day lockout, lol. ■Important warning: The Police Academy Five are missing one member (eyes closed). The story's timeline can't save Hiromitsu. Sorry qwq Now for this story's blurb: As the title says, I'm completely face-blind. In everyday life, I identify people by guessing. But after I started working part-time at a cafe, my face blindness seemed less noticeable, because everyone around here is easy to recognize. There's the kid who always wears a bow tie and a blue suit, and my cafe coworker, who's one of those rare blond-haired, dark-skinned people. The neighbors just don't get along very well, do they? There are cases around here all the time, but it's no big deal, since there's a famous detective agency upstairs. Sometimes I even get to watch the drama unfold. Oh, right. This place is also a lot like an anime I've been watching lately. Both have a detective who falls asleep and a child assistant who solves cases with him, though sometimes they switch places or something... This anime must be really popular, right? So many people are copying its crimes. I'm scared it'll get investigated someday. To everyone else, Emika Kawatani is the new cafe employee who seems a little absent-minded and lazy. But whenever a case comes up, she reacts faster than anyone else and can instantly identify the culprit and reconstruct the whole crime. She keeps explaining it all with an anime that doesn't even exist, but everyone else tacitly agrees not to expose the fact that she's naturally gifted. The eternal little detective: Damn! I've got a seriously formidable rival! A certain blond undercover agent: Ever thought about applying to the police academy? (Laughs) A certain hard-working liquor company employee: ...Join the liquor company, got it? (Smirks) Emika Kawatani: ! I know this one! The anime just aired this plot yesterday! So now I'm supposed to join them if I can't beat them, and then become an informant for the gray side? Everyone: ...Aren't you already one??? There will be lots of original cases. Everything depends on my own intelligence, so expect something childish and juvenile. Mostly everyday life, with no dramatic twists. The heroine doesn't know she has transmigrated and is just an ordinary working girl (though people misunderstand her). *Due to an accidental deletion of my outline by the software late in the story, the ending doesn't quite live up to the setup. Please don't read if that bothers you. Core message: For the sake of the ultimate truth!
