An Amateur Exorcist

Luo Ting thinks he's having another episode. Just like when he was a child, he's seeing "ghosts."

As a psychological counselor, he worries that his condition might cause his clients further harm, so he decides to resign and take some time away.

But during his final session, he never expects someone to impersonate his client, Mr. Wang Dadao.

"Counselor Luo, I'm from a family of mystics. I'd like to ask you to counsel ghosts so you can help them move on," the impostor says.

Luo Ting smiles on the outside, but makes a mental note to ask his assistant to keep an eye on this patient later. Like himself, the man seems to be hallucinating, and should probably be referred to a hospital's psychiatric department.

But the next moment, the man takes out a bottle of mineral water containing a clump of black mist.

The black mist inside the bottle roars furiously, "That scumbag makes 2.08 million a month and doesn't even burn any money for me!"

Luo Ting puts on his professional smile. "..."

A few days later, Luo Ting wakes with a start from a dream and sees a female ghost hanging in front of his bed.

"Boohoohoo, my child! Why is my life so miserable?"

Luo Ting coolly reminds her, "You have to book your session in advance."

Then there's the ghost who comes to him, crying that she's developed depression.

Luo Ting: "..."

Psychological counselors don't handle that.

A few months later...

Luo Ting's reputation grows and grows. Ghosts unable to move on because of their lingering attachments all come to see him.

The guy who dragged him into this mess in the first place looks at Luo Ting cheerfully. "Counselor Luo, your fees for this month have come in. They gave you so much ghost money."

Luo Ting: "..."

Thanks, but no thanks.
