Twelve years ago, an unknown virus swept across the globe. Those infected fell into a deep sleep, their bodily functions ceased, and their appearances remained unchanged. The condition came to be known as "Chronostasis Syndrome."
Two years later, a research project called the "Dream Dimension Investigation Team" was officially established. Its mission was to enter people's dreams, observe them, and awaken those who had fallen asleep.
After ten years of effort, the research was on the verge of success, but the virus mutated.
The mutated virus was contagious and could randomly drag passersby into the dreams of infected people.
Guan Bei was among the first unlucky victims.

One day, everyone noticed a bite mark above the upper lip of Xie Nanqi, captain of Investigation Team F.
A colleague asked, "Captain Xie, how'd you get hurt? What vicious dog has such a bite?"
Xie Nanqi beamed. "Jealous? My boyfriend bit me."
Everyone turned to look at Guan Bei. He had a bite mark on his lip too.
Guan Bei fell silent for three seconds. "I was bitten by a dog."
The smile on Xie Nanqi's face bloomed more radiantly than a chrysanthemum. He readily admitted, "Right, I bit him."
